| | The simple answer is the SANFL is an inferior competition to the AFL/VFL and it would not be fair to include those statistics pre-1997. When the Power became a new AFL Franchise in 1997 the Port Adelaide Magpies still continued to play in the SANFL so technically they are 2 different organisations, even though they might affiliate themselves. |  | | |
