Troubled Adelaide defender Nathan Bock has been cleared to resume playing in the AFL after his club-sanctioned suspension was lifted by the Crows.
Bock was suspended indefinitely by the Crows last week after police charged him with assault. Bock is alleged to have slapped his girlfriend Carlie Matthews and caused damage in an incident outside the General Havelock Hotel on April 4. The All-Australian defender is due to appear in court later in the year. The Crows fined Bock the maximum amount allowed under the players' code of conduct and say he will undergo counselling in anger management and use of alcohol. The club released a statement saying Bock will do 50 hours of community service and he missed last weekend's game against Fremantle. Just goes to prove a week is a long time in football.

I find it hard to believe that Bock has changed in such a short amount of time.
He was sentenced to councilling, I believe he should finish this councilling and community service before he is permitted back into the game. Why is this situation any different to Nick D'arcy attacking a fellow swimmer. Nick may have caused more damage but the same principle is evident. A sportsperson has attacked a person yet Nathan Bock gets a slip on the wrist. |
