Default Matthew Kreuzer - AFL Draft Talk

Looks like Pick 1 in the 2007 AFL draft is simple - Matthew Kreuzer.

Big question is who is going to have the first pick?

Richmond, Carlton or Melbourne ... or is Pick 1 tradeable in 2007 with names like Judd, Pavlich & Reiwoldt coming out of contract.

I would HATE to see Richmond or Melbourne finish bottom and then have Carlton snatch the first pick, it's a stupid rule. BUT, I think Carlton may finish last anyway. If not, Richmond would keep him I daresay. But I daresaid Gasper was having his best season since doing his knee...

Richmond or Carlton would be stupid to trade pick 1 considering the talent Kreuzer is (would've easily been top 10 in last years draft), how hard it is to find a mobile big man and the stages both teams are at.

Melbourne on the other hand, should offer pick 1 (if they get it) to WC in a deal for Judd. They're definitely underperformed big time this year (due to injuries and what not) and if they get Judd it could give them a good chance at having a crack for a flag.

All 3 would be mad not to take him. All 3 could do with another key forward and 2 of the 3 are desperate for ruck depth.

Kruezer has been dominating. Has been in the best, if not best in most of the last half dozen games. If he was not already a lock for No 1 he has to be now.

I hope that when the blues call out his name somebody has the balls to protest.

Why? Melbourne and Richmond are much better teams that Carlton. They need him more

They might need him more, but their method of getting him was disgraceful. I for one, hope he turns out to be a dud! No pressure on the poor kid though is there? lol

Why? Their season was over so they cut their losses and played some kids who were actually a chance of being on their list and playing AFL football next year. Heck, even Melbourne have been playing some players purely to test whether they will be at the club next year or not.

Most clubs do the same thing. Port did it last year, sending players in for surgery and fast tracking some kids and look what happened there.

As for Kruezer, word is Carlton are happy with Hampson and the o'Hailpins and will be taking Cotchin with pick number one.

Just a little update.

Matthew Kruezer has won the Morris Medal for best and fairest in the Under 18 competition by 4 votes from his team mate, whos name escapes me right now. Well done Matty.
