Default David Myers - AFL Draft Talk

David Myers (WA)
Height : 190cm
Weight : 85kg

This is what Matt Burgan had to say about Myers on afl.com.au :-
'One of the most impressive defenders so far in this year's championships, Myers provided plenty of rebound and drive against Vic Country. He finished with 31 disposals – second only to Palmer – while he also laid five tackles.'

And this is what AIS Acedemy coach, Alan McConnell had to say about him :-
'Myers demonstrated his ability to read the play exceptionally well again. He had another high-possession count and probably used the ball better today than he did in round one, which was a good result for Western Australia.'

I'd love him to come to Essendon, along with a number of youngsters, but I think he is the best defender that will be available in this years draft.

You'll have to give up your first pick then.

Yerrr...he'll be gone before our second pick for sure. Knights said he wanted a running tall defender, I wonder if it is Myers .?.?.

i would never use a high draft pick on a defender.

yer......I would go by the best player available. If the best player happened to be a defender, I would pick him up.

But a lot of the time, people who are drafted as KPF or KPD end up swapping, and the forwards end as backs and the backs end as forwards- David Neitz, for example.
And if you need a tall defender, and one came up with the best credentials in the draft, id take them!
