Default Top 10 Draft picks

Is it just me, or are top 10 draft picks overrated?
yes, with a top 10 pick, you have more chance to pick up the best talent of u/18s...but so many top 10 picks only turn out to be fringe players, or flashy, inconsistent players.

Yes, the best player in the league was a pick 3, but the previous best, Hird was a pick in the 70's i think.

IMO, the second best midfielder in the league, Daniel Kerr, was not a top 10 pick (17), the leagues best ruckman was a rookie.
Duel brownlow medallist Adam Goodes was a pick 43 etc...the list goes on.

What does everyone else think of this...is it just me?

Yeah true, I think Carlton is wasting their time tanking when all they end up with is a Bryce Gibbs someone who looks like the next superstar (Kruezer) and turns out to be pretty useless.

So im not to fussed that Carlton wont give us No.1 when we could get No.3 which is where its at.

Do you expect to get players with No 3. if so who would be acceptable.

Cale Morton is WA.
If Kreuzer goes pick 1 and Cotchin pick 2 as is expected, then Morton will probably go pick 3!!!

Yerr........ Palmer will also be right in the mix for pick 3. Morton might be slightly preffered if the WCE's get pick 3, because he's brother plays for them.

These are the draft camp results from day 2 :-

20-metre sprints
David Gourdis – Subiaco (2.83)
Clayton Hinkley – North Ballarat Rebels (2.88)
Steven Gaertner – Dandenong Stingrays (2.88)

Agility
Aaron Joseph – Tassie Mariners (7.91)
Lachlan Hill – Oakleigh Chargers (8.05)
Clayton Hinkley – Dandenong Stingrays (8.07)

6 x 30m repeat sprints
Chris Kangars – Geelong Falcons (23.59)
Patrick Dangerfield – Geelong Falcons (23.96)
Cyril Rioli – Northern Territory Thunder (24.01)

Shuttle run (aka beep test)
Cale Morton – Claremont (15.2 – Level 15 Shuttle 2)
Joel Smouha – Mt Gravatt (15.1)
Brendan Whitecross – Zillmere (14.10)
Clayton Hinkley – North Ballarat Rebels (14.9)
Rhys Palmer – East Fremantle (14.8)
Scott Selwood – Bendigo Pioneers (14.7)

Cale Morton's, Cyril Rioli's and Rhys Palmer's stakes went up higher after today's draft camp results. Cale Morton really impressed with the best beep test score. If WCE get the 3rd pick, expect them to get him !!

scott selwood is the fourth selwood isnt he?
I thought he was supposed to be the best of the lot...i know hes bottom age, but, if hes the best of the lot, how come he isnt a top 10 pick?

And, is there any phantom draft sites with 2007 potentials around?
I used to use bigfooty and footydraft but they are well behind these days.
Is there any others?

yerr.. Scott Selwood is the fourth Selwood. He's been playing pretty well in the TAC cup.
Nuh...I don't know any phantom draft sites. The only one I know is Matt Burgan's one on afl.com.au.lol
