Brades is on a distinguished road
Default Brades 2007 AFL Phantom Draft

1.Carlton - Matthew Kreuzer (Ruck)
Kreuzer is clearly the number one choice for the struggling blues. They need a key ruck who has the skills around the ground to match someone like Dean Cox and that is who they get here.

2.Richmond – Cale Morton (HBF/Mid)
The tigers are in need of a taller HB Flanker or a tall winger with the endurance to run a game right out and the skills to hit passes from the centre onto the chest of leading forwards, something they would see of more from Morton than Cotchin

3.West Coast – Trent Cotchin (HFF/Mid)
Cotchin is rated as the best overall midfielder in the draft and is compared to Gary Ablett Jr a lot due to his ability to kick goals from the HFF. He will probably start his career there and slowly push into the midfield

4.Melbourne – Rhys Palmer (HFF/Mid)
Similar in style to Cotchin, but not as refined in skills and probably doesn’t have the upside, but after bolting at the U18 carnival and showing his skills well for
East Freo, Melbourne will have to take this kid if they want an impact straight away. He is in my opinion the most ready made player in the draft.

5.Western Bulldogs – Jarrod Grant (CHF)
A smokey in the draft and thanks to other people I have been influenced to put him here. The word is from another forum that the recruiting staff at the Dogs rate him higher than any other tall forward in the draft. If he doesn’t go here then McEvoy or Henderson might.

6.Essendon – Chris Masten (Mid)
Clearance work is the main trade of Masten, who was rated higher than Palmer earlier in the year. He may not have the dashing brilliance of Palmer but he can run at a decent pace and has good endurance. He also has better skills than Palmer off both sides of his body, but is not as ready for AFL level as Palmer appears to be. This type of player is something Essendon need, that or Rioli.

7.Fremantle – David Myers (Mid/HBF)
Mark Harvey stated earlier in the post-season that he was after taller midfielders to play alongside the short men of
Bell, Carr, Schammer and Peake to give us first use at the ball. This could either involve pushing Mundy into the midfield or using their 7th pick on Myers. Myers is a very agile kid who also has great endurance and running speeds. Rated by some as the best overall player in the draft, he will go early and I hope he goes to Freo.

8.Brisbane – Cyril Rioli (Mid/SF)
With the disappearance of their faster running midfielders, Brisbane will be looking for a player with genuine pace and that is what Rioli brings to the team. Although people might think they will go with a ball winning midfielder, its not something they crave as much as pacey midfielders.

9.StKilda – Lachlan Henderson (CHF/CHB/FF)
StKilda lost their key forward in Gehrig due to retirement. Kozi is a good option up forward and they may look to the future with Handerson playing down forward and Kozi drifting forward while changing with King. If not they will go for a fast midfielder. It is very likely that Brisbane and StKilda could basically swap players here.

10.Adelaide – Brad Ebert (Mid)
Brad Ebert has stated that he would like to remain in SA or go to a club like Essendon or Collingwood, so he will probably drop this low with Essendon already taking a similar player in Masten. Ebert is a great leader and has great skills with a hard body to match, valuable to the Crows.

Only posting 10 a day as it takes a while to figure it all out.

CHB = Centre Half Back
FF = Full Forward
FB = Full Back
HFF = Half Forward Flank
HBF = Half Back Flank
Mid = Midfielder

No way the Lions will take Rioli especially when Henderson and Ebert are available. Also, Melbourne don't need Palmer and McEvoy not in the top 10? Poor effort

They won't take Ebert because they know Ebert doesn't really want to move and will pull a Judd and want to go home. McEvoy I was tossing up with on Melbourne, but they need a fast runner in the midfield that they don't currently have. McLean and Jones are both slower inside mids. Either one will do Melb, I chose that.

I also wrote that Lions might take Henderson, if you'd read instead of being a deliberate criticiser just for the sake of it.

Yeah, pretty good so far Bradesy.
I would have thought Melbourne would pick up Masten over Palmer, cause every recruiter knows Masten is better, don't they ?!!! Look forward to seeing the rest !

Stop criticising for the sake of it, we get that you don't like my posts.
