PAFC is on a distinguished road
Default PAFC's Phantom Draft

It's National Draft eve, but why bother getting up early when you can see the order right now?1 Carlton-Matthew Kreuzer - (13/05/89) 200/94 - Ruck
Carlton need a ruckman and they've got the clear standout ruck choice here
2 Richmond-Cale Morton - (18/01/90) 192/79 - Utility
Surely they didn't bring his brother over for nothing? The talented utility would add height to an already tall Richmond midfield or strengthen their defence, possibly giving someone like Raines or Newman more midfield time
3 West Coast-Trent Cotchin - (07/04/89) 185/80 - Midfielder
The best geniune midfielder in the draft, there's no doubt West Coast will take him after losing Judd, adding strength to an impressive line of young midfielders.
4 Melbourne-Ben McEvoy - (11/07/89) 200/95 - Ruck/Fwd
Melbourne need someone to support Jeff White and unless Meesen has impressed hugely, they'll need someone soon. McEvoy would pair up well with White, resting up forward in an Ottens/Lade type role
5 Bulldogs-Jared Grant - (06/06/89) 192/77 - Tall Forward
Bulldogs recruiting manager has been known to 'overpay', if he wants the player. Word is Grant is almost a sure thing
6 Essendon-Chris Masten - (02/05/89) 180/77 - Midfielder
Talented midfidler, who knows where he will go. Somewhere in the top ten though
7 Fremantle-Rhys Palmer - (13/02/89) 181/80 - Midfielder
Toss a coin. Myers or Palmer. Heads says Palmer.
8 Brisbane-Brad Ebert - (02/04/90) 188/85 - Midfielder
Brisbane will be keen to get a tough, tall midfielder into their engine room. Both St.Kilda and Adelaide would be keen to see him slip.
9 St Kilda-Lachie Henderson - (14/12/89) 196/92 - Key position
Saints need a KPP with Watts, Gherig and Brooks all gone in the same year. Henderson no doubt fits the bill and will add needed versatility to the Saints KPP posts.
10 Adelaide-Cyril Rioli - (14/07/89) 177/79 - Small Forward
Adelaide need a crumbing forward to replace Bode and have been impressed with Rioli.
11 Sydney-Alex Rance - (09/10/89) 192/88 - Key Defender
Hard running tall defender, will no doubt fit the mould of the Sydney defender. With Barry and C.Bolton ageing, this will be the obvious selection.
12 Hawthorn-David Myers - (30/06/89) 191/86 - Half Back/Midfielder
Hawthorn could get the big bargain of this draft. The mobile running defender fits in with Hawthorns style.
13 West Coast- Tayte Pears - (24/03/90) 190/92 - Key Defender
Pacy tall defender will add depth to West Coasts key defenders. Ward has also been linked to this pick.
14 Melbourne- Callan Ward - (10/04/90) 185/73 - Small Forward/Midfielder
Extra midfield depth may be needed for Melbourne and Ward gives versatility as Robertson and Yze start to age as small forwards.
15 North Melbourne- Scott Selwood - (27/03/90) 185/80 - Small Defender
It's a strange selection with Riggio and Smith as small backs as well as the versatile Firrito and Gibson but it looks like the next Selwood will be a Roo
16 Port Adelaide -David Gourdis - (24/03/89) 192/89 - Key Forward
Port desperatley need a tall forward and Gourdis could be the one that fits the bill. Gourdis was exceptional in the 20 m sprints at the draft camp and could give the relief that Tredrea and Westhoff desperatley need in years to come.
17 Geelong- Patrick Veszpremi - (01/07/89) 181/85 - Midfielder
Tough nut midfielder who was expected to go much higher, with poor form and injury the reasons behind him dropping. A number of clubs interested.
18 Richmond-Tom Bellchambers - (09/07/89) 201/100 - Ruck
Richmond will need a ruck choice here. Pick 18 will probably be too high for Bellchambers but Richmond will have little choice. Dawson Simpson could be an outsider for this pick.
19 Bulldogs-Tony Notte - (15/04/90) 194/70 - Key Forward
Raw young forward who will need plenty of years in the gym. Dogs have expressed interest and he should be there for pick 19.
20 West Coast- Levi Greenwood - (19/02/89) 181/93 - Half Back/Wingman
SA's best player in the championships, but is expected to drop because of doubts over whether he can have the same prescence in the AFL. Greenwood would make a great replacement for Daniel Chick.
21 Melbourne- Steven Gaertner - (10/04/90) 185/73 - (02/01/90) 198/85 - Key Forward
Melbourne will be looking to stock up on talls and Gaertner could slip to pick 21.
22 West Coast-Dawson Simpson - (17/02/89) 206/105 - Ruck
This kid is an absoloute giant with massive potential. West Coast need depth in the ruck department and Simpson would offer something different.
23 Essendon-Addam Maric - (19/04/90) 178/77 - Small Forward
Bottom aged small forward, who the Bombers are interested in
24 Fremantle- Patrick McGinnity - (18/02/89) 184/78
Tough midfielder who impressed with tagging roles at the championships.
25 Brisbane- Tom Collier - (12/03/89) 192/84 - Tall Defender
Running defender who could add depth the Lions inexperienced defence.
26 Sydney- Harry Taylor - (12/06/86) 193/91 - Tall Defender
27 Adelaide- Patrick Dangerfield - (05/04/90) 187/83 - Small Defender/Midfielder
28 Port Adelaide- James Mulligan - (14/06/1989) 201/96 - Ruckman
29 Hawthorn- Marlon Motlop - (17/04/90) 179/75 - Small Forward
30 Adelaide- Andrew Otten - (15/05/89) 192/86 - Utility
31 Collingwood- Jackson Hall - (06/09/89) 188/76 - Defender
32 North Melbourne- Robbie Tarrant - (25/04/89) 196/90 - Tall Forward
33 Port Adelaide- Tom McNamara - (29/04/90) 189/84 - Defender

Taylor Walker is being taken at 75 by Adelaide, Freo are utilising all picks and Cam Howat is going back to Richmond more than likely. Freo don't need a tagger either, we have 3.

Myers won't slip past Adelaide.

Nice Draft. Why is noone saying Smoutha will be picked? Also the only team picking Kepler Bradley will be Fremantle. I hope your right with the Eagles getting the best midfielder.

Great work PAFC.......
I really like the sound of all them picks for us, but I'm pretty sure we'll go for a ruckman / key position player at some stage in the draft.
We don't have to wait much longer now, 1 hr & 30mins and we'll know who our teams got. Can't wait...............
