Youth at around pick 55 would probably be speculative and considering we are trying for a premiership, someone like Johnson is more valuable for his experience than a kid who may or may not make it. Most guys at like Pick 55 dont make it and even when they do its not till a few years. We want to win next year and continue winning, so we took the 3 young kids with our first 3 good picks in a shallow draft, then went with experience to help get the younger guys some maturity.

He won't love your state, but he wont mind playing there thats about it. No one can love Victoria.. its just.. victoria.

ps: I wouldn't take the Sprint as a great guide and 3.01 is slower than Kruezer.
I wouldn't call Hawkins & Grant ruckmen, I wrecken there forwards, even Sellar is more of a forward than a ruck. Victoria is the best state in Australia, that's why the Grand Final is played there, the best facilities, the best supporters !! And Kreuzer has been widely regarded as a ruckman with a midfielders engine, he's got the whole package, that's why it was a no-brainer for Carlton to pick him, and adding to that, they needed to top up their ruck stocks, so he was the best available & the best ruckman, which sent Carlton booming with smiles. Kreuzer didn't get a better 20m sprint score than Myers, but he was quicker endurance wise. (Beep test & 3k time trial)

Yeah, SA isn't great but Victoria is worse (what did you expect from a South Australian? We hate Victoria )

No ifs, maybe some buts if they belong to some hot women

54 - Hooker... another tall defender, ya gotta be joking. our recruiting manager needs to be sacked. sack him, sack him now!

effectively, 4 tall defenders if you include Darcy Daniher (forward/back). we didn't get a ruckman, when we probably needed 1 more on the list. Bellchambers would've been a monty for pick55, yet somehow got overlooked by everybody.
We didn't draft any midfielders (our biggest weakness). Rhys Palmer was a priority!
we sack Kepler Bradley.pretty much a tall defender throughout his time at Essendon (and end up getting nothing for him). then go out and draft more tall defenders. that's absurd.
i'm furious right now. absolutely furious.
we'll get back-to-back spoons !!

You just are not seeing the bigger picture Tippaz. Essendon has drafted many midfield/running players in the last two drafts. That area has for the best part, been covered. Drafting Talls is very smart, considering we will lose Lloyd, Lucas, Fletcher and Micheal over the next few years. We have now put into action, a succesion plan. I believe Myers was an incredibly good get for the club. Pears could have gone in the early 10-20s so he is a great get also. Daniher is regarded as a higher pick than what we had to use for him. And from all reports on him, Hooker may turn out to be the "Steal" of the draft. For a big guy, his speed has him ranked in the top 10 percent of all the draftees, he is a strong mark also. If Hooker had not been ill with glandular fever for so long, he may well have been rated a top twenty pick.

Myers can work through the midfield, or run from the backline in the way we wish McPhee would do more consistently. And just because they played as defenders in their respective competitions, does not mean they will stay as defenders.

Overall, i think Essendon drafted extremely well this year. Get the idea out of your head that we have no midfielders. We have drafted them and they will develop. I am sure the ruckman issue will be addressed next year. Ryder and Lay**** are both improving all the time.

Oh, and we can't get back to back wooden spoons obviously, if we did not finish on the bottom. Only Richmond can achieve that honour.

Have confidence Tippaz! If you are going to be so negative, just go support someone else, coz real Essendon fans are more positive than that. No club needs negative supporters.

I reckon you guys have done BRILLIANTLY in this draft. Ebert was a nice surprise for you, as well as Selwood. I rate your draft probably the best of all teams. Judd and Cousins may soon be forgotten.

Pick 55 last year was Robbie Gray
