Default Hawks picking up the fatties?

Nah serious, Stuey dew is one of my fav players, and as a hawk fan, I still remember that time when he made about 4 players look incredibly stupid, as he jinxed along the boundary line corralled by hawks, with only the ball in play, going left going right, left again, then running right baulking another player and kicking a goal. (at least thats how i remember it)

What do you reckon, I hope he gets up, but a lot depends on the player management skills at hawthorn, and whether they get the best of ppl.
Same story perhaps with young rioli

Got a lot of those questions at the moment with the hawks.

Think Buddy, Roughy, Dew, Rioli, Muston.

If they flourish, well **** look out, but if they don't, we could be in a bit of strife

Any thoughts?

Dew's weight is a problem, but he's never been a particularly mobile player. It was sick when he was delisted, one bad season can do it at his age. I reckon he'll be a good impact player off the bench for a couple of years. The other players you mentioned don't strike me as being overweight at all.

i dont really like hawthorn, but if all goes well for them, Dew will be finishing up around the same time as Rioli is coming good.

Funniest thread topic ever..' Hawks picking up the fatties?'
The Hawks have now seemed to go off their young kids policy, and feel very confident with their young crop of players, and are now looking for players to top up their list. Dew needs some serious work to get back into match fitness, but if he manages to pull it off, he'll provide the club with a match winning half-forward, and all the faith that the Hawks have put into him, could end up being a fantastic reward. Good on the Hawks for putting some faith in this bloke I say.........

Yeh sorry I got a bit excited with the post and chucked a whole heap of things in.

The Rioli kid apparantly needs a bit of work in terms of fitness... hence fatty... (anyone remember Dean?)

Re the other players, I was talking about player management and whether the Hawks can get the goods out of these obviously talented players.

Potential is one of the most overated commodities in the AFL, and the Hawks have HEAPS of it!!!!

Ha Ha, maybe we'll be good enough to realise it, but there seems to be soo many stories of players with potential... who just didn't survive

Wrong. He was at 120 kg in August this year. Since starting training he is back to 104 kg. His playing weight was usually 90ish kg.
