At first mate i was furious. If Ebert was at 10 he was a certainty based on the fact he was from S.A. I new little about dangerfield but i have watched the highlights package and researched his abit and hes a star. He will fit alot better in the crows structure for the future than Ebert would have. Ebert will have a good chance of playing this year. Dangerfield wont so i have decided to be patient. The pressure will be of Patrick as we already no what we are getting from him next year as opposed to Ebert.

Only time will tell. Perhaps this question should be answered in 10 years time.

Ebert is just like Van Berlo. He's ok and a good solid player like Adam Simpson, but when you have a chance to draft someone like Dangerfield you have to take it.

It comes down to the old production vs. potential argument. Ebert's put the runs on the board, he's one of the best performed players at U18 level this year, he's a safe pick. Dangerfield has far greater potential than Ebert (much more athletic - very quick, loves to run and carry, take players on etc.), but is underage, hasn't shown as much as Ebert so far and has a few flaws that will need straightening out if he's going to 'make it', but if he does put it all together he'll be a much more damaging player.

How could you not draft a player with the surname "Dangerfield." There are 9 pretty stupid clubs out there.

Most youngsters are all talked up now you can tell generally whether a player will turn out alright and providing they do not run off the rails or suffer a sreious injury then they should come good. As for comparing these two Ebert will probably play this year, so he's ahead but there must be something the Crows see in this Dangerfield.
