Default Class of 2007

Just thought i'd start a thread where we can keep track of the progress of the youngsters and see how the improve/stall throughout the season.

To kickstart was dissapointed with Kreuzer for the first 6 and a half quarters of his short career after being picked #1 due to his ability to instantly step up to AFL level. However in the last quarter and a bit against the Hawks he started moving up the ground from CHF and leading beautifuly. Has a great pair of mits, has eyes only for the ball and lacks no courage for anyone coming in from behind. Then in the last when he got 10 or so minutes in the ruck I was astounded by his athleticism. He has tremendous speed for a man his size and great mobility in getting to lower contests. I think he will have quitened most critics by years end.

Ebert and Selwood have impressed in their first and second games (from reports) for WC. Ebert's use of the ball has been very clean (better than a lot of the senior players) and reading of the play has been excellent for a first year player and Selwood's tenacity and attack on the football is terrific, and he looks as though he'll shape up to be a quality inside midfielder in the future (more like Joel than Adam/Troy).

i want to mention no.59 draft pick Craig Bird of Sydney is getting rave reviews, and is pushing for selection in rd1.

i wouldn't even know what he looked like, but i'm tipping he'll be one to watch.

*he also scored 84 dreamteam pts in their NAB Cup against Hawthorn, which was the highest score by a Sydney player. not a bad fantasy tip.

Look for Cyril Rioli to play a big part at Hawthorn this year. My first instinct was he wouldn't be getting many games with a stacked forward line and star midfield however with early suspensions he is a gimme to get a role in their somewhere and should be very similar to Alwyn Davey of last year.

masten is the pick for me, i noticed in another thread someone said hes the next cousins, i def agree. he's a junior australian record holder over 400, 800 and 1500m for under 14's and 15's i think it is and also holds the triple jump record for 14's and 15's, he only stopped doing athletics to concentrate on footy.his god father is the eagles head recruiter. a ball magnet who can run all day. lets hope his 'injury troubles' are over so we can see what he's got

has anyone heard anything about levi greenwood at the kangaroos?
he was a very good player for the port adelaide magpies last year. has a mature body and looked to me like he could step up instantly.
dont think he will ever be a star, but looks like he could be a solid role player for years to come

marlon motlop at ports looks the goods.
i dont know how port keep doing it with these indigenous players. i know essendon pick up a lot too, but they seem to have a lot in the fringes, ports seem to be ready to go right away.
this kid looks like he will be better than krakour as he has a mature body and looks cool under pressure.
is already taking kick outs in the NAB cup, shows what confidence they have in him

someone said he picked up like 40 touches in a wafl trial and made peter bell look second rate? is this true?
will be in from round one, or a fantasy player to pick up later?
