Ebert from Port Magpies in the SANFL - he is the nephew of Russell.

Default just a rumour

I have heard as trade, Brisbane is pulling out all stops to get Nick Riewoldt.

There are several Riolis looming as possible top picks, unsure of names and ages.

Some names i've seen to look out for are:

Matthew Kreuzer, outstanding ruck/forward talent who is the early favourite to go #1.

Cyril Rioli Junior is a likely first rounder in the small forward mould.

Chris Masten, ball magnet from WA. One of the top mids in the draft and should go top 10.

Scott Selwood, the 4th and final addition of the Selwood brothers is once again midfielder and is touted as a potential top 10 pick.

Trent Cotchin, despite being a bottom aged player this kids expected to go very early as potentially the best midfielder in the draft.

Apart from Masten, from WA, the only other guy I can see going round 1 and even a very likely top 10 is Cale Morton. Bottom aged player, brother of Mitch (WCE) and Jarryd (HAW) and would be coming to WCE if they didn't change the F/S rule. Played against him a couple of times in the last few years. Tall (192cm) goal kicking winger/HFF, very good disposal and football smarts too. Similar style of player to Andrew Embley.

Just some ideas from the WA vs VM game at Subi last Saturday (for those that missed it):

WA

Rhys Palmer - BOG. Had something like 34 possessions, 9 marks, 5 goals 2. He's the entire package; loves to win the contested ball, has pace, skills, flair and loves to back himself. Hadn't heard a heck of a lot about him before, but as one of the commentators said; "He got himself drafted today." Also heard he got BOG against VC, so top 10 for sure and possibly top 5? Looks well built for a youngster, so you'd think he'd be a good prospect to play quite a few AFL games in his first season.

Luke Sampey - Had a good game at CHF. Good set of hands and looks to be a solid KPP prospect.

Chris Masten - Quiet in the first half, but improved a heap in the second half. Not overly quick, but great at the clearances and uses the ball very well, a bit like Sam Mitchell.

Cale Morton - Played HBF/wing and had a very good game. Like I said before, he's a great user of the football, and that was very evident with a numerous pinpoint 50-55m passes. Took some good contested grabs too. Probably not AFL ready for next season due to his size.

Nicholas Naitinui - From Fiji. Played on Kreuzer in the ruck and did a good job. Very raw and still has a lot to learn about the game, but the athleticism is definitely there and will be a top prospect for next years draft (underaged this year).

VM

Matt Kreuzer - probably VMs best on a dull day for them. His skills (disposal and marking) and athletcism are terrific for a guy of his stature and he relishes the contests.

Jack Grimes - He tried hard too. Handy up forward and good at reading the play. Chipped in with 2-3 goals.

Addam Maric - Spent alot of time up forward, rather than in the midfield. Good ball winner and uses it well, when he's got it. Kicked a couple of goals, but went of with an injury late in the game.

Trent Cotchin - A lot of hype pre-tournament (a couple of people were touting him as the "next Judd" ), but had a game to forget. Unsighted for most of the game.

AFL.com.au are doing a better job this year with reports on the games/players in the U18 Champs, so there's some stuff worth reading there from the recruiters and such, if you're interested.

Ignore the Ebert hype, i'm on the Levi Greenwood bandwagon. BOG in the Vic County vs. SA easily over Ebert. Also liked tall forward Lee Staples. I'll type up more when I can be bothered

He's obviously not a certain as you won't be doing the drafting
