Lions Masters,

Had a look at your team. It's a strong lineup.
Don't buy Darren Glass. He is a lockdown fullback, and won't produce any CD points. Setanta O'Hailpin looks set to take on a tall defender role, and i'm not 100% sure where it will be. Waite will be CHB, but Thornton and O'Hailpin will fullback and backpocket, and i don't know which way around yet. If O'Hailpin is fullback... well... that is very bad news because he won't get the points. The backpocket, on the other hand, could allow him to get up the ground and score. He is risk. You had better keep a closer eye on him in the NAB Cup.
You've got to do something about those reserves because hardly any of them will play enough games. Have a look at my hot prospects thread for some good tips. Or, check out the "starting lineups" thread to see who might be in the best 22.
Once again, i think you've gone for an excessive midfield. I would encourage everyone to look harder for some good bargains in the centres.
And as i explained earlier in this thread, the Jonathon Brown pricetag is way over the top. Better to let things unfold. He'll cheapen up eventually.
I thought you learnt a valuable lesson in your 1st season (last year). You understood the importance of players producing the 22 games - that's what carries the team. But i can only see a few names like Judd, Cox, Pavlich, Ablett who are worthy of being reliable. Try to bring in some more trustworthy names. I thought you liked Simon Black - he never lets anyone down.
One more thing (i don't wanna harp on it too much) is that old Brisbane vibe seems to be creeping into your team selections. Don't let your heart rule over your head. Having too many players from the 1 team can be costly sometimes.

Thanks for the good tips. I did want Power and Black together. But I will decide on which one is best. I think Black and Bradshaw were dependable players for me, however Bradshaw fell apart in the last couple rounds possible because he was holding the team together goal kicking wise.

However this is still a draft version so no know, half the team might be moved before the start of the season. So I'll keep on changing the outfit until the right mix comes in.

nuts. i don't know what was wrong when trying to make that post. i had to edit the bugger about 5 times for pete's sake. and i wasn't drinking, honest.
no-no, as you were. monfries is a forward. no drama.
the other problem i've discovered with it is that hille is a lot less than i thought he was. so i retract the statement that he's too expensive. but i do have other doubts about him. call it a funny feeling but i dunno if he's solid. i'm concerned he'll be the first big fella to do a knee or something. plus sheeds has other rucks chomping at the bit to have a crack. albeit blokes who don't have the best injury record though.

I'm going to start my team all over again, with the intention of building a total VFM (value for money) centreline. All my centres MUST be underpriced (in my eyes) for this to work.
At the moment, i'm thinking Luke Hodge is a dead set certainty to be my most expensive centre (considering he had a Judd-like season in 2005 CD). Luke Ball is another name that belongs right at the top, so i'll consider him too. I will put Joel Selwood back to the reserves along with Lindsay Thomas. And I will look to nail 4 or 5 VFM centres 'set-to-soar in 2007' with midranged pricetags. Wanna get Rischitelli in there somehow!
That means back/rucks/forwards will be slightly bulked up.
I am finding the 10mil is actually too generous. It means a lot of nice bargains get overlooked.

Tippaz, again, I don't think your "VFM" centreline really works unless you can identify a lower priced player who will soar to a 500k players level (100+ average)

Hi All

Again this is a great idea ... Thanks tippaz.

However, in future can people start a new thread when they want others to discuss there dreamteams.

ie ALI-G Dreamteam Discussion or Brades Dream Team Chat

It just gets all too confusing with all the side banter.

I will split other players where possible.
