Default TooManyMelbourneTeams - player queries

I pretty much have a good temporary team, but am looking at the following players as options. What do people think of these players?

Defence
Brennan - showed what he is capable of last year at times. Worth $314,600?
Petterd - was doing well last year 'til injured. I assume will play through midfield.
J.Graham - don't know if he will get enough game time.
L. Fisher - into 3rd season and improved last year. Mid range player or better?
Gilbert - was a good buy last year - but is that it?
Nicoski - he mentioned he might play the Chick role this year. If so, might not be value.
Proud - a lot of people are picking this guy. Excuse my ignorance - is he a certainty to play and get decent points? Cheap though.
Lonergan - a lot of people are picking this guy. Excuse my ignorance - is he a certainty to play and get decent points? I would have thought he might struggle to play much for Geelong. Cheap though.
Hansen - is he decent chance to play a few games. I assume he would be better in DT defence rather than forward.

Centres
Dyson/Houli - similar cost. Houli played well in Challenge game in Perth. Who is better?
Embley - will be good if he stays uninjured, but has frustrated people by being missing in last 2 seasons.
Adc.ock - can he continue his form last season. Last year in defence was good, but still value at higher cost and in midfield?
Hadley - changed club - more value at Carlton? Will he get decent game time and numbers?
Gibbs - will he be released more in midfield this year and be able to get bigger numbers, or will Judd's presence curb his time on the ball?
Cotchin/Cale Morton - will they play many?
Clarke - will he be value with a year of AFL under his belt. Looked pretty good last year?

Ruck
Hudson - likely to be Bulldogs No.1 ruck - worth the cost?
Maric/Griffin - I assume the former has got the No.1 spot for now.
Leuenberger - how many games this year likely?
Meesen - will he be Melbourne's No.2 ruck?

Forwards
Porplyzia - didn't get massive points last year, but people are picking him this year. What has changed?
Alwyn Davey - overpriced? He gets quite a few tackles that helps points.
Hawkins - more likely to play without N.Ablett being there, but I suspect may score low pts like N.Ablett & Varcoe did last year.
Bradshaw - good price if he stays fit. Better forward or back though?
S.Welsh - thoughts now he has moved away from Adelaide?

I can answer only with knowledge of Trent Cotchin - He will play with Coburg from Rounds 4-6. Due to not completing a pre-season he will require another 4-6 weeks getting match practice in the seconds and then Terry will bring him into the Richmond midfield.

This kid is an absolute star and as he is only 17 he will be treated with utmost respect and given plenty of time.

Just as a side note Trent Cotchin would have been picked in the Richmond midfield at age 16 let alone now.

Big things will come from him in time, but he will be a very good dreamteam selection as soon as he gets picked in the senior side.

He is a definite trade in to any dreamteam side at that time.

I am sorry that I can only speak about one player with intimate knowledge.

Thanks - was thinking Cotchin as a "to watch" player, along with a few other like Masten.

Defence
Brennan - No thanks.
Petterd - Could be a good option, but I don't know enough about him.
J.Graham - I think he'll by vying for the 3rd tall position with Spangher. Would be a good pick up if he cements a spot - ability to average 70+.
L. Fisher - I think he'll still score in the mid-range
Gilbert - Don't see him increasing output massively, possibly 75ish at best
Nicoski - he's not very useful as a lockdown defender, will probably end up going back to his usual flank/wing role eventually. Had a disappointing P/S - I think he'll start off slowly, so I'm avoiding him.
Proud - Should get rewarded for his P/S. Probably won't score very big, given the Lions current midfield talent, but a 50-60 average would be a good result.
Lonergan - You'll be able to find out tomorrow whether he's named. Don't know much about him.
Hansen - Looks likely he'll start the season. Laidley has apparently lined him up for a tall winger role, so his stats should be a fair amount better than last year.

Centres
Dyson/Houli - I've got varying opinions from Dons supporters, but most say Houli is better VFM, but rate them both as likely types.
Embley - had an excellent P/S, but like you say his injury record isn't pretty to look at. Though, if he was a forward I'd definitely consider him. I think he'll improve considerably upon last season and could be worth a second look.
Adc.ock - Should still perform well - likely 95+. I envisage him becoming one of the elite mids in the comp in the next few years.
Hadley - he should get decent game time, but his price is too high IMO.
Gibbs - Looks likely to play midfield and will be the most improved player in the comp at the end of the season IMO.
Cotchin/Cale Morton - No idea. Cale had a good P/S so he's a fair chance.
Clarke - Not sure what to expect from him. I prefer other options.

Ruck
Hudson - I'd only pay extra coin for Cox, maybe McIntosh.
Maric/Griffin - Possibly but too expensive for cash cows and don't seem like DTers.
Leuenberger - He's the no. 2 ruck at Brisbane, so could well be all 22.
Meesen - Would be competing with Jamar for the back-up to JW. Good bench option.

Forwards
Porplyzia - had a good P/S and think he'll get more time in the midfield
Alwyn Davey - I'm not a fan of small forwards for DT, unless they they're cash cows.
Hawkins - I'd expect a 60ish average. Will get good delivery that's for sure.
Bradshaw - Either, I have him in backs in DT and forwards in SC.
S.Welsh - I don't rate him as fantasy footballer.

Thanks for the comments. I doubt many of those players will come into my team - but worth finding out about players that are slightly outside the more common names in the search for a bargain/dark horse.
