This line-up isn't locked in yet. I've got a heap of back-up options but this is where I am currently with my team

I'm taking huge risks with my midfield here going with 6 CHEAPIES!!
I think they'll all get a regular game and should score pretty well.
I've alsoe gone pretty cheap with my rucks.

This has allowed me to spend top $$ on getting extra guns into the squad who can hopefully keep racking up high scores to cover me if I have problems in another area.

It'll restrict my options for trading especially early on but hopefully I won't need to make trades for the first 5-6 weeks.

I found it too difficult to decide on my cheap mids so I just decided to go with most of them. Guys like Palmer and Dyson were also in the mix.

Go ahead... abuse the hell out of my team

im almost positive cotchin has been injured and am led to believe he will miss the first 4 or so games?

but hey i like you're thinking on the mids, a bit of a risk, but if it pays off u'll be laughing

u need a midfield overhaul and fast, u need so more mid ranged players in the mids and backline, or risk getting zeros with players on the ground, guys like bird, houli and cotchin arnt garenteed 22 20 games a season, put them on ur reseves. question how much money do u have left over?

Not much left over.
If Cotchin is injured I'll probably bring in Palmer. Like I said though, I'll decide whether I'll stick with this tactic tonight. I originally had guys like Murphy and Gibbs in there. Prismall was seriously looked at too.

It's just that there are so many young guns in the mids that they're so hard to ignore.

I also think that I can afford a couple of zeros in the first few rounds if the kids aren't getting a run. I seriously think that most of these kids will play from the start and I'd be unlucky to end up scoring zeros in the mids.
Going cheap here means I've got more high scoring players in other positions which would hopefully cover any possible zeroes. If all the kids play though and can score 60 or more points it'll set me up beautifully.

You won't win this competition without taking risks. Having said that I took big risks last season and it fell apart. I'm determined though... safe play won't get you anywhere!

i'm a fan of the strategy - but it could end up in complete disaster

Cotchin is deffo injured... will miss a large chunk of the season.
you might struggle to field in a full team in rd1. (centres) that's the concern.
perhaps look for some older 2nd/3rd year players too, such as T.Tuck and Jarryn Geary.
not all 1st year players hold their spot.

Cheers Tippaz.
There's always a risk in round one especially considering it's a long weekend and we won't know most line-ups at lockout.
It could definitely end in disaster but I'm willing to take the risk. Playing safe won't win this comp. I see you've taken quite a few risks too.

Cotchin will definitely go.
I'm thinking of downgrading a forward or a defender and upgrading to Cox and one extra gun mid. Bradshaw/Proud and Porplyzia/Tippett/Jetta could find their way in with the downgrades

i reckon you should drop N.Thompson and just start Rioli. (most people will start him, i think)
that saves you heaps.

I see most people are choosing Hall over Fevola - I hope I haven't made the wrong choice playing Fev. Had Hall last year and he didn't impress!

That's why he's so cheap this year.
He seemed to present well last year despite his injury problems but everytime I saw him he dropped at least 2-3 sitters off his chest. If he marks them he also gets another kick and might kick a goal from them too.

3 marks, 3 kicks, 1 goal = 24 ppg extra.
...and if he's actually fit he will find more of the ball anyway.

He's a risk but a risk I'm willing to take given his current price and pre-season form
