Post GetInThere 2007 DT season (DonzFC) Weekly update

After a long pre-season the side finally seems to be taking some kind of shape. The team sits mid table in 9th position above Pluggers elite and below Ravis xxii. But we all know preseason is for money building and tinkering so can we really judge much yet? The first preseason hit out saw Haselby captain the side to a score of 1692, best players included fletcher(102), pavlich(112), haselby(95), birchall/jones 90 a piece and adcock scored 96 from the bench. Players yet to fire included ball(43), hodge(64), hall(69) and johncock(67).

The second preseason scratch match saw the side score a total of 1621 with good performances by adcock(107), haselby(89), priddis(108), pavlich(113) and ablett(109). Still yet to fire were johncock(24), hodge(65), hall(32) and monfries(56). Injuries are beginning to play a part with ball, lappin, johncock and hall all on the sidelines or looking at time on the sidelines. The recruiting team decided to enlist the help of a few new players before seasons start welcoming brad johnson and lindsay gilbee for the injured duo johncock and burton.

A final preseason match was played with johnson captaining the side to a respectable 1731. Players doing well were birchall(97), haselby(112), hodge(92) and hall(113). The form of raines, griffin, monfries is still a concern, as well as the persistant injuries to ball and lappin.

The coaching staff has brought in judd for the price dropping griffin to bolster the midfield, they also have their eye on the increasingly bargain priced goodwin in the comming weeks. j brown also looks enticing.

The side sits 22248 overall out of 180237 comming into the round one clash against lord rayden, with a tough hit out the week later against ladder leader pafc.

The selected squad for the first round is

Adcock--Gilbee--Fletcher--Birchall--Jones--Kozitchtke--Raines

Judd--Haselby--Hodge--Ball--Lappin--Foley

Sandilands--Darcy

Johnson--Pavlich--Ablett--Hall--Monfries--D Thomas--Davey

although the coach has been known to make some last minute changes!

ball and lappin could be doubtful so emrgencies standing by.

Goodluck for the season all!

Default Round one

Round 1 score - 1988 Overall Rd rank - 2152/182409

Total score - 7032 Overall rank - 9543/182409

League rank - 2nd League overall - 17/10242

Game score

GetInThere 1988 vs Lord Rayden 1805

Round one was again an improvement on past weeks, with the side clicking fairly well for the first time at the right time. The side sits second on the ladder behind high flying bu5t3r2 and just ahead of Borak and thewaybackmachine.

In the back line good performers were fletcher(120), and gilbee(89) and it was good to see raines hit some form with 83. The midfield played well with new captain judd(214), haselby(127), hodge(109) and foley(90) all scoring well, Ball continues to be a concern, he has great scoring potential but seems fragile. A trade could be imminent before price drop. In the rucks Sandilands(93) played well and i had a feeling before the game darcy(79) was about to hit his straps and i wasnt dissapointed.

In the forward line pavlich(134) and dale thomas(96) played well with cameos from monfries(90) and johnson(85). Barry hall continues to be inconsistant but cannot be dropped. With the quick turn around this week before the game against PAFC dale thomas could be an injury concern, the cocahing staff are also hoping lappin could make his long awaited return. After looking at PAFC's side there are huge differences so it could be a mauling in either sides favour.

Most probably no trades this week, still waiting for price drops and player gains.

Well done on the 17th ranking all!

Good luck

Default Round 5

Round 5 score - 1707 Overall Round rank - 51445/182409

Total score - 8739 Overall rank - 12950/182409

League rank - 8th League overall - 58/10242

Game score

P.A.F.C 1909 vs GetInThere 1707

Round side saw the team plummet from 2nd to 8th after a comprehensive beating by pafc. The midfield really struggled with no score over 90. In defence fletcher(118) and gilbee(112) played well with raines(84) continuing to get better. Ad****s form is beginning to be a concern as well as jones who may be carrying an injury. The forward line also failed to fire with only brad johnson scoring over 100. Dale thomas continues to impress tho.

On the trade front the time has come to swap monfries for jonathon brown as i think his price may have nearly bottomed out. Im regretting not trading ball for lewis last week, but that horse has now bolted.

This weeks game sees me face 10th placed brisbane dragons which should be a close game with percentage only separating the sides.

Selection dramas this week. Went for Kennelly week prior for the omminent price rise to just get shafted by injury...price for being greedy.

Have been struggling with what to do with C.Jones. 12 points will dent his already low score for the next 2 weeks, and coming up against Sydney I don't think he will score that high. So his price will drop to 220k without a doubt. Trading him for Jesse Smith was the option. However, I have decided to have faith in my players, and instead upgraded Jetta who I don't think will play for some time for Steve Johnson. A risk I know, but I have to make up ground somewhere. If he can repeat his magoos effort against Sandringham of 35touches and 4 goals I will be happy. Don't think Jesse Smith will do that against the Swans playing at h/b.

Other change to team was to free up cash and enlist the second Cox into the side, who is getting regular game time with the pies.

Surely

Default Round 6

Round 6 score - 1960 Overall Round rank - 4366/192801

League rank - 5th League overall - 41/10745

Game score

GetInThere 1960 vs Brisbane Dragons 1868

Round 6 saw the side consolidate its spot on the ladder with a hard fought win over brisbane dragons by 92 points. The side sits 5th, equal on points with borak, lord rayden and bu5t3r2. I'm happy with the structure of the side at present ,after making 7 trades so far and having 250000 in the bank i'm ready to cruise along for a few weeks and wait for the ineviatable injuries or form spikes.

The side this week had a fairly even spread, in the back line fletcher(101) continued his stellar form and kozi chimed in with a 103. In the middle captain judd scored 253 and was abley backed by priddis(104) and comeback kid lappin(101). Petterd scored 101 from the bench and is pushing for selection.

Pavlich(107), ablett(129),johnson(97),brown(92) and hall(82) made the most of their opportunities up forward. Dissapointments for the week were haselby(29) and dale thomas(54).

Next week sees the side play pluggers elite who sits a few places below on the ladder. Any trades this week are highly doubtful, the team is performing well at this time and only a huge mid week injury will change things.

League rank - 4th League overall - 49/10745

Game score

GetInThere 1843 vs Pluggers elite 1667

Round 7 saw the side take an easy victory over pluggers elite to move up to forth on the ladder. The side sits equal on points with lord rayden and talkingfootball who are all trailing the impressive undefeated thewaybackmachine.

The side remains settled with no injury concerns and alot of players in form, but there are one or two positions of concern that may be adressed in the comming weeks.

This week saw ad****(119) excell in the back half with good support from kozi(86). Boyle chipped in with 92 from the pine. The midfield again fired with ball(101), cross(112) and priddis(90) abley supporting captain judd(224).

Sandilands(82) and darcy(78) controlled the ruck while up forward johnson(100) and ablett(104) performed well with hall chipping in with 84.

dissapointing this week and having their first poor games were fletcher(49), pavlich(43), while lappin(57) and jono brown(54) were well held.

Next week sees the side come up against lowly shrek but the team will still have to be on guard.

Default round 8

Round 8 score - 1936 Overall Round rank - 697/204542

Total score - 14478 Overall rank - 3148/204542

League rank - 3rd League overall - 28/10745

Game score

GetInThere 1936 vs Shrek 1747

Another comfortable victory this week takes the side up to 3rd, equal on points with lord rayden and next weeks opponent thewaybackmachine.

It was a suprisingly good week, scoring the 697th highest score even with paul haselby missing with back sorness, petterd helped fill the void with 74.
In the back half birchall excelled with 116, and fletcher scored 94.
In the midfield captain judd dominated with 214 while nobody else in the team could manage a score over 100.

Gibbs has just been traded for a cash injection, bomber midfielder houli steps in for his chance-with an average of about 70 he could be of as much value as gibbs was.

The team as of round 9 is-

H shaw, Gilbee, Fletcher, Birchall, Kozi, C Jones, Ad****, (Boyle, Ellis)

Judd, Cross, Haselby, Ball, Lappin, Priddis, (Petterd, Houli)

Sandilands, Darcy, (Hudson, Griffin)

J Brown,Johnson, G Ablett, Pavlich, Hall,Thomas, Davey(Campbell,****shell)

If chapman plays this week he may come into the side, other contenders are bartel, cornes and bowden...just waiting on whoever playes a poor game or 2.

Default Round 9

Round 9 score - 1919 Overall Round rank - 4252/208730

Total score - 16397 Overall rank - 2119/208730

League rank - 2nd League overall - 26/11531

Game score

GetInThere 1919 vs Thewaybackmachine 1613

Round 9 saw the team defeat a dissapointing ladder leader by 306pts.
The side now sits second, separated from lord rayden on topby .42 of a percent.
The dream match up will have to happen in the finals as we already played earlier in the season ...resulting in a victory to us, but lord rayden is getting formidable, especially with so many trades left to use.

This week the back line was dissapointing with only birchall scoring over 100. The midfield continues to prop up the side...as it should, it cost $$$! judd scored 100, priddis 115, haselby 115, bartel 222, lappin 92 and cross slightly dissapointing with 81.

The forward line was even with johnson, ablett, hall, pavlich and brown all scoring between 85 and 110.

With half the trades now used up its time to settle....if i can, i would still like to bring in chapman for dale thomas, ill have to weigh up my options, will thomas drop more....will chapman rise...hopefully he dosent play this week so the choice will be made for me!

Game score

GetInThere 2009 vs *Star_killerz* 1736

Round 10 saw an unchanged side score a nice victory over star killerz to edge out lord rayden at the top of the table by just under 2 percent. The gap at the top of the table is 2 games with a hunting pack of 8 sides fighting to catch the leaders. At near the half way point of the season its still anyones guess who will make it to the finals.

This week the midfield was awesome with Priddis 166, Bartel 150, Cross 118, Lappin 114, Haselby 99 and captain Judd 166. Im rueing choosing judd for captain over bartel but i thought judd would play a cracker after the eye gouge controversy.

The backline had Fletcher dominant with 117 , kozi with 99 and ad**** chipped in with 91. Boyle is fighting hard for a spot on the ground with consistant performances. Heath shaw copped a corkie and scored 8.

Up forward Pavlich scored 144, Johnson !07, Ablett 92 and Brown 89. Hall was useless with 36.
The use of darcy was a mistake with him scoring in the 30's, he may have had his last run for my side with the rucks needing improvement soon.

Still half trades left so likley to be an unchanged lineup for another week when we play the fast improving Brades winners

GetInThere 1860 vs Brades Winners 1723

Round 11 saw the side get a scratchy victory against Brades winners, the match was injury plagued with injuries to both sides. The victory takes the side a game clear of lord rayden on top, with a challenging game comming up against the inform borak-cold inferno.

Its going to be a testing few weeks with a long term knee injury to Cross, suspected injurys to Judd and Hudson causing them to under perform and my sources tell me Dustin Fletcher may have an aductor injury. This coupled with the woeful form of Hall, and the inconsistancy of Haselby means a weakened side for a few weeks to come. Thank god for the split round!

This week good performers in defence were fletcher(130), Gilbee(118) and H Shaw(98). In the midfield captain Bartel scored 234, with Priddis(119) and Lappin(117) abley assisting. Up forward Johnson(114) and Pavlich(128) performed well and ablett scored 91 but played a cracking game.

As mentioned dissapointments were hall(30), Haselby(37), Cross(29) and Thomas(40).

Im excited about trading cross for a new midfielder, its not often you have 350+ to splurge on some body and not feel guilty about it. 8 weeks is too long to hold on to him. A top line midfielder needs to be found.
