Think from memory the magic number statistically is 7 games and the bulk of rookie have reached their peak +/- a very small percent.

Now there are always exceptions to the rule ... just think the good old "bell curve" even exists in fantasy AFL football scores. Who would have ever thought that year 10 maths would have been useful.

It always depends on the benifit it is going to bring to your team.

Scenario 1 - Your rookie has played 3 games and has a 100 in between 2 20's you let the hundred go through another week and trade him out for a 80K profit.

Scenario 2 - Your rookie has played 3 games and is averaging 70. You trade him out and make a 100K profit after a 4th 70.

Scenario 1 was a good deal IMO. It enables you to more quickly upgrade a mid tier player into a solid keeper improving your score. Scenario 2 means you traded palmer after 4 games and missed the opportunity to let him rise enough to upgrade your mid tier player into Ablett or Bartel.

Basically it all depends on the player and the need to improve your team.
