I'm getting itchy feet!!

i cant wait for dream team!, ive had a whole list of potential players in my head all summer that ive been thinking of.

cricket dream teams just dont cut it..and the premier league one is tough to keep track of with overnight games, lousy game coverage and stuff..im still going not bad tho.

i see somebodies posted the player prices in another thread..are they accurate?, where do they come from?, any idea of the salary cap?

i look weekly on the afl website waiting for that day that i can start my team

Exactly the same as me mate, can't wait for the AFL Dreamteam season to begin....!
I've basically made my team, but they'll be a few changes come the start of the season I presume....

I'm pretty keen - I was lucky enough to drive off in the Toyota Camry after winning the AFL Finals comp - thanks Jimmy Bartel!! My wife has put a ding in it already...Bunnings carpark.

I came 441 in the regular comp, and did finish 11th one year. Looking forward to reading (and posting) some wise opinions in this forum.

I've calculated prices before (I haven't checked out that thread yet and won't bother) - it's a simple formula based on average in the previous year, and for new players whether they are on the rookie list. Every now and again they throw in a couple of "value" gets - a year or so ago Simon Goodwin was cheap at 156,100 but was suspended for the first game. Last year Nathan Bock and a few others were valued on a different basis as well, so you gotta do your research when the time is right.

Calculating the ongoing season prices (using the rolling average) is a different story - I have no idea how they do that!

I have a few good ideas for smokies this year - look at players who recover well from injury ie Bradshaw, and perform well in the pre-season.

yer i've got a few smokies in the bank too..i'm busting to type them here but i also want to keep them in just in case nobody else uses them and i get some advantage!

hey TF any idea how your going to work out who will get the 16 spots this year?...last year was like a meat market when it was time to form a league!!

At this stage we are looking at increasing the prize money & sending out personalised invitations into the comps.

However, we will make a formal announcement well before the season starts ....

..and it starts again. Pre-Season has begun and so has the meaningful research. Personally I am not the one for chosing a side at this time of the year, as it is always bound to be changed once player prices are released.

Agree that there are plenty of smokies this season, particularly if look at the more established players. Brown, Hall, Judd, Tredrea, Aker, Yze to name a few that have consitently racked up big points 2 years ago and should be very cheap. Just have to weigh up the injury risk. At this stage I think Essendon and Collingwood have plenty of player potential, as many of the youngsters will have to step up with major changes in established club leadership for the past 10-20yrs

hey all cant wait to play dream team this year seeing it will be my first not to sure how i will go i have played super coach last few years so hopefully i will have some idea from that i have also brought a mag by the afl called season 200(78 page about dream team $7) has every player and there price and there chance this year in super coach not to sure how close it is to the mark but has givin me alot of pointers seeing it is my 1st dream team.Cant wait
