Smile dt smokies 2008

As we all know the key to winning Fantasy footy is picking the smokies and kids....we all know the players who are superstars and most teams will have similar stars in their line ups...but what about the smokies! .......because i work night shift and have way too much time on my hands i've noted down some names that have taken my attention since last season........(ive kept a few for myself too

excuse any mistakes i'm just a hack pundit!

Adelaide-
Sellar & tippet - bottom priced, can they take advantage of injurys and a poor pack of forwards/rucks to make good dt'ers?

Porplyzia - Trying to move into the midfield, could be worth more points

Douglas - I think hes ready to break out, a forward who may get lots of possies

Symes - New club, has been a point scorer previousley.

Brisbane-
Henderson - i reckon he can play..if bradshaw plays back he may get some game time.

Proud - another one who can play, and if gets a run could be good for the bench.

Carlton -
Hampson - looks an emerging ruckman who would be good on your bench

grigg - can play in a lot of positions and gets posessions, could cement his spot

pfieffer - played a good nab cup game, bottom priced so keep an eye on for bench.

Essendon
Dempsay - everyones seems to be on him already, if he roams around the half back line getting possies and keeps fit for the year will be a bargain

nash - another who may float around half back getting lots of possies.....there could be alot of stat rats in essendons back half if knights has his way.

hocking - got loads of the ball last year for bendigo and continued that in the nab cup last week..bottom priced.

houli & dyson - everyone is on dyson, i dont think he will keep his spot if he keeps murdering the ball, my moneys on houli to step up and be a big dt contributor.

Fremantle -
not that they are smokies but i reckon headland is about to rip the league apart and gilmore smashed it late last year and could be dominant

palmer - high draft pick who should get a run, especially seeing haselby is out..will be on alot of benches.

Geelong -
prismall - is prolific, got injured last year and could'nt force his way into the side, if he gets a run would be a bargain pick.

lonergon - can play back or forward and will be cheap, could make a handy player

Hawthorn -
ellis - now that smith is gone should play all games and become a solid contributor

Melbourne -
Petterd & jones - played well last year ,can they take advantage of club departures and take the next step.

Kangaroos -
hansen - a high draft pick last year who will have benefited from the run and the new spot vacated by archer.

Port -
Logan - has had a cracking pre season and has put his hand up as a player for this year, if he gets in to the side could be a good pick

boak - played well for the second half of last year and could be this years pendlebury......points wise.

chaplin - could miss the start of the season but cranked out some massive scores late last year and could be one to watch

Richmond -
mc mahon - will roam around half back getting possies in the richmond style

Sydney
-
barlow - supposed to be the next goodes....we shall see.

West coast -
Mc namara - played late last year and in finals so they must think of him highly, may be a spot for him in the mids after departures

Butler - scored high points the year before last then got injured..could be a sneaky pick if he can get into the side fit

nikoski - i hear words he may change positions and get some more posessions, could also cement a spot where chick used to be.

le cras - i noticed him scoring some good points late last year and could move further up the field.

Bulldogs -
higgins - could be his time to step up..a player of class who could move up the ground.

griffin - is this his year to make good his potential?

williams - good first year getting possies in defence, can he back it up?

any comments or additions would be welcome! p.s you dont have to give away your secrets if you dont want

Thanks for the list.

Just so you know with North, i don't think Hansen will be playing back at all.

Our backline is easily the strongest bit of the team and despite Archer leaving there arn't many spots back there up for grabs. He'll likely be played on a half forward flank untill he matures into the KPP (hopefully at CHF) we want him to be. In the last NAB game he actually played in the centre had was in our top 3 players so that was great to see.

excellent work.

most of those guys are on my watchlist too.
i have started working on my 2008 season guide.
it will include 4 separate categories... "big guns", "hot prospects", "smokeys", and "cash cows".
dunno how long this will be. but i've got a feeling this is going to be a LOT longer than my effort last.
