Default Jay Schulz Should He Go

Jay Schulz is contracted til next year at richmond, but his VFL form this year, apart from one game of nine goals, has been ordinary to shocking.
PAFC said in his list of team trade bait that Port were interested.
Would any one trade fro him?
If so, what?
If not, would you pick him up in PSD?

Wouldnt have thought there'd be too much interest, if your not gonna get much for him may as well keep him at the club and see how he goes, or let him have a fresh start else where if his stagnating. Best you could hope for would be late draft pick 50+ or a similar player.

I'm with you, I think all Richmond will get for Shulz would be a around draft choice no.50.

Jay Shulz is a good footballer, but he needs to be in a team that does not include Matthew Richardson.

When he plays with Richo in the same side he seems to lead into the wrong positions or the players kick it to Richo instead.

His best game was a couple of years ago when Richmond played Brisbane in Brisbane and he kicked 6 goals. The players looked for him and he lead and marked well. Richo also did not play.

He would be well suited to a team that is looking for a leading full forward. Richmond seem to have a few coming through like Jack Riewoldt and Cleve Hughes (although interestingly Cleve did not play in the Coburg Grand Final team, but the Coburg Reserves?).

I am not sure what that does to Jay Shulz, but a possibility of a trade could be there for him this year.

Also, a player can not go through to the PSD if he is under contract - he must be traded. The only way a contracted player can get to the PSD is if he is released from his contract by his club by mutual consent or paid out without consent.

I think we should hold on to him. He has the ability to kick bags of goals and as I have said in previous threads, he ALWAYS kicks 2 goals when he plays for Richmond. It's like his thing that he does. Also, people are willing to be patient and look to Cleve Hughes, who can't even get a gig in the seconds, but Cleve is only 2 years younger than Schulz. I know it feels like he's been around for years but it's not the case. Schulz could be a handy full forward if he works hard over pre season.

Richmond supporters are 50/50 on this topic aren't they.
Bit of a tough one. I personally think he needs a fresh start.

i love schultzy...i reckon hes a gun, but hes getting older (23 next season i think) and you cant live on potential alone.

But all the games ive seen hughes play (in the VFL) he looks slow, unfit and angry.
Hes a thumping kick and a pretty good mark, but he doesnt present well, and hes predictable...i have a feeling he may be on borrowed time next yr.
