Which for a bottom 8, near bottom of the ladder side is very bad.

In a shallow draft it's a raffle after pick 15 anyhow.

and...whats with "a bottom 8 side, near the bottom of the ladder, is very bad"

of course a bottom 8 side will be near the bottom of the ladder...
and why is it bad to get two quality players and still have good draft picks...it would be the same as if we had finished second last and there was no priorities- pick 2, then 15 clubs later, its up to pick 18...so we havent done too bad...

I think Richmond needed to add experience to their team, and they did that with signing McMahon. Newman & McMahon in the backline, good little duo. Both accurate kicks. McMahon can play in the midfield as well. He doesn't go in for the ball, which is a bit of worry, but if Foley & Hyde can get it out to him and Newman, who knows how many goals Richo and Browny can kick.?.?. After saying all that though, I'm glad Essendon didn't pick him up because we have plenty of outside players and not enough insiders.

we have the opposite problem to bombers- we have plenty of inside midfielders, (Foley, Tuck, Jackson, Coughlan, Polo etc), but we dont have enough silky players with good skills (such as Mcmahon), so he will be a good aquisition!!!

Hell no, I wouldn't go near McMahon. Port have a million running players like him(Pettigrew, P.Burgoyne) who can play in defence and we have more than enough speedy midfielders. McMahon is soft, gets pushed off the ball too easily and makes poor desicions. Surely the grand final showed that this is NOT what Port need to pick up.

The whole reason why this draft is weak is because it has no depth. Richmond have given one of their two picks where some good players would have been left for what will become two fringe players. This now means that the Richmond have a very small chance of getting a KPP player in the top 20, which is what they need. Good job Terry.

So you have no good inside midfielders. Yes, Foley is good but he is the type of player that will struggle when tagged.

Pretty sure he copped a tag from about round 10 on and didn't struggle in the slightest, barring the Sydney game. He's too quick. And why don't people rate Tuck? He is the best clearance player in the league, followed by Foley himself. Coughlan is a smokey.

Foley has been tagged from about round 6 onwards, and still killed em.
Coughlan is a B+F winner, and, before his injury, was in the top 10 midfielders in the comp, Tuck easilly got the most clearences at richmond this year, and Jackson is turning into a half good tagger.
Ask any bombers fan if Polo is any good, and they will remember dreamtime at the G last year, when polo, in his first game, dominated, to give us a win (one point, i think) and he won the B.O.G medal. He also showed a lot this season before having to have surgery on his shoulder.

Put Simmonds into this side, the 3rd best ruckman in the league when fit, and we have a very good midfield coming along.

Add Johnson, who isnt an inside mid, but doesnt mind goin in, Deledio...need i say more about him- pick one, NAB rising star, Grand Final sprint winner etc etc etc..., Tambling, who, despite critisicm from OUTSIDE THE CLUB, is coming along nicely, and should be hitting his straps pretty soon.

Foley has not been tagged heavily since round 6. He got tagged towards the very end of the season, and struggled.
