Won't go to Freo. They are too busy in deep negotiations to trade for some magic beans.

Schulz is almost cetainly gone to PA for a third round draft pick, i think it said.
Shame...he'll turn out to be a gun there, and everyone will say we're **** at recruiting again.

As for Hughes, i have my doubts about him- he didnt even play in Coburgs GF this yr, he was in the Coburg reserves team...

And he seems slow and unwilling!!!

but i think we need a tall forward more than anything- Richo will only be around for 2 yrs and Riewoldt will need another tall forward to play with...

So i hope we dont get Carroll
Thursfield at FB, I don't think he's good enough to play that hard role.
He's got potential, but I don't think his best position is at full back.
Polak or Bowden aren't really FB, so I think yous need to get a full back.
You's also need another forward, but yous have got Richo, Browny, Riewoldt, Hughes, Pattison and Patrick Bowden.

And Pettifer. Thursfield is a great full back, he will be one of the best going around in a year or two. Gehrig said he was one of his tougher opponents this year.

From what I've seen of Thursfield he hasn't played that well, respecting that the opp. forwards get more chances. I wrecken he plays from behind to much and he really doesn't have the body strength. He'll be 22 next year, he hasn't put on that much muscle since he's been at the club, so I'm not sure if he can quickly put on beef. Big call ' he will be one of the best going around in a year or two '.

I'm not alone there though. Everyone at Richmond was rapped with his 07, especially since he was coming off a knee reco. He has been skinny but put on a lot of weight this year when it was realized he would need to hold down full back. He is expected to have iron poisoning by the time he gets back next season and is already quick and has the nerve to hold contests with bigger forwards. Have been keeping a close eye on him since 05 and will continue to.

Theirs still doubts on Hughes and P Bowden...
And Pattison is our secondary ruckman...i dont think hes a good enough kick to play as a key forward...

And Thursfield this year was in the top 3 for spoils in the AFL- i think he was first, but im not certain...so he can afford to play from behind, because hes got the pace to keep up with the forwards, and hes got the skills to spoil it away...and hes one of the most courageous players at Richmond...hes like Andrew Kellaway with a bit more skill
