Default Nathan Carroll Demons Draft Trade Speculation

Is apparently on the table along with Travis Johnstone, and no-one was interested yesterday. I rate Carroll highly, despite the fact he had a poor 2007 and has been involved in some incidents lately. Greg Miller has said we are out to bolster our height in defence, and he could be just what we need. At 27 we'd only get 4 or 5 years out of him max, but that's plenty of time for the likes of Thursfield and McGuane to step up.

This is a tough one for Dees! If the deal was right I suppose we would have to consider.

What do you think Tigers will offer?

Apparently there is also talk of him going home to Freo, I hope not. Good one year, awful the next. We cut him already too.

I'd be willing to part with our second round pick 20 for Carroll, but I don't know if Richmond rate him as highly as I do.

pick 20?
i hope not...you could probably get Leigh Brown from Kangas for pick 20...and Brown is twice the size and twice the skill of Carroll

You's need a solid full back, and Carroll would fill that role beautifully.
Not sure Brown is a full back. I think that would be a fair trade, pick 20 for Carroll. Richmond will get an awesome kid with pick 2 and then they would need to top up there list with some experience, and than they should be set to have a better year than past.

i know Miller said we needed a big defender, but i dont thnk our defence is the problem...we've got Polak at CHB, and Thursfield at FB...next yr, thursfield will be a lot bigger, and we've also got Mcguane and Bowden (who won his two B+F's at CHB) in case of injury etc...
but i think we need a tall forward more than anything- Richo will only be around for 2 yrs and Riewoldt will need another tall forward to play with...

So i hope we dont get Carroll

We got Cleve Hughes and Jay Schulz, both of whom I think could be very good players in tandem with Riewoldt.
