Default Josh Kennedy Holding Up Trade Week

Will he go or will he stay.

Carlton have chewed this kid and spat him out ... if thats how they treat their kids why would Kruezer want to go there.

My understanding is that Kennedy wants to stay at the blues, but the blues have put him on the trade table for the 'Judd' deal. If what I think is true, that's exactly right TF, why would Kreuzer or anyone want to go there.
Kreuzer won't have a choice though, like so many other draftees, he'll definetly go no.1.

Most smart teams have traded some youngsters fairly early. Port traded Brooks who was a 1st round pick in the 'superdraft' the next year and got Salopek out of it.

Kennedy just needs to pass a medical apparently. Standard procedure.

If Kennedy does not like the idea of moving to WA then why dont the WCE tell him we will pick you up in the swap for Judd ,then throw him back out to another Vic AFL team that he does like and do a deal with them .

We get pick 3 @ 20 + Kennedy.
We tell Kennedy that if he would like to play for another club in Vic then we will use him as a trade and WCE could grab a lot more for Judd than anyone ever thought?

So we could end up with pick 3,20 +2 quility players or 2 more low draft picks(under 20).
Its a big **** around for Kennedy the poor lad.
What do you think.

I'm sure Carlton would have though of this. However, cant see

a/ A Victorian club taking him into their salary cap ... think he still has a year left in his contract.
b/ Offering the Blues or Eagles a reasonable on-trade able pick for him.

So what I'm trying to say is part of the reason the blues would release Kennedy is create some room in their salary cap to accommodate Judd.

Kennedy wouldn't be on a huge contract. McLaren would have been on more and they delisted him. Carlton should have been shopping him around for a pick if he wants to stay in Melbourne and then on trade that pick to include in the Judd deal. I assume they have done this and simply come up with nothing, which probably shows how little value Kennedy adds to the deal.

Traded players cannot be on-traded in the same year.
As for carlton's treatment of kennedy, what about the swans deciding that Buchanen, Bolton & Schneider are no longer wanted ?
How about Travis Johnstone being looked at as trade bait ?
Every club uses players as trade bait at some stage over the years so please get off the high horse regarding Kennedy.
I feel sorry for him but carlton are not the only ones wh o do it.By the way the trade is confirmed. Judd & pick 46 for Carltons Pick 3 & 20 & Kennedy.

Yep, Judd is officially a Carlton player according to the Herald Sun...

Herald Sun Footy Story Page

Not sure that Kennedy wanted to go as the article says...

"Kennedy, who is contracted for two years, was "sleeping on" his decision last night.
His answer will be yes, for if he rejects the move, the 20-year-old will be forever known as the man who blocked the Judd deal, an unbearable situation. "
