Loopy Cam - St.Kilda
Backs: 4.5/5
Midfield: 4/5
Rucks: 4/5
Forward: 4/5
Depth: 1.5/5
Youth: 4.5/5
Improvement: 7.5/10
Total: 30.5/40
Really solid team best XXII in all regards, is up there with the best if not the best of the current entries, solid all over and plenty of great youth, however depth is definitely an issue. If all goes to plan with injuries then this is a premiership contender, however if it goes pear shaped like it has aplenty in recent times for the Saints they could be slightly worse than just mid table dwellers.
Great_Source - Port Adelaide
Backs: 3/5
Midfield: 5/5
Rucks: 4/5
Forward: 4.5/5
Depth: 1.5/5
Youth: 3.5/5
Improvement: 4/10
Total: 25.5/40
Another premiership contender, with Backs the only significant issue as only Mal plays tight checking (and he's almost finished), the rest are quite loose playing defenders (most very good ones though), elsewhere very solid (forward line has been improved in particular, midfield very well balanced, rucks the same). Depth is an issue with alot of young players. A good improvement of the current team overall, but a loss of Port's exciting youth and upside.
Crows4Flag - Carlton
Backs: 2.5/5
Midfield: 2.5/5
Rucks: 1/5
Forward: 5/5
Depth: 1.5/5
Youth: 4/5
Improvement: 5/10
Total: 21.5/40
A team with fairly good future prospects, but only brilliant in one area currently - definitely better than the current Carlton team, but without as a bright a future. Backline isn't brilliant but has definitely been improved (~1.5 points), average midfield, superb forward line. Rucks are lacking big time - Goodes doesn't ruck anymore and King is reaching an end, no other suitable back-up options. Depth is still an issue.
Ravadongon - Western Bulldogs
Backs: 3.5/5
Midfield: 3.5/5
Rucks: 3.5/5
Forward: 5/5
Depth: 4.5/5
Youth: 4/5
Improvement: 7.5/10
Total: 31.5/40
Bombers007 - Sydney

Midfield: 4/5
Rucks: 3/5
Forward: 2/5
Depth: 3.5/5
Youth: 2/5
Improvement: 3.5/10
Total: 20/40
Looks like Sydney could be for some tough times, not bottom of the pack yet, but almost. Backs are average, midfield is typical Sydney (apart from Dal Santo), very workman like. Rucks are decent with Everitt (almost finished) and Hille. You know the forward line isn't too great when Hille's starting FF. Depth is solid with quite a few in the wings with solid experience, but youth needs work
Brades - Adelaide
Backs: 4/5
Midfield: 3.5/5
Rucks: 2.5/5
Forward: 3/5
Depth: 3/5
Youth: 5/5
Improvement: 8/10
Total: 29/40
Excellent team for the future (which seems is what Brades was aiming for and the right option for Adelaide), won't be pushing for a premiership now, but given a couple of years will be right up there. While depth is average now, Adelaide will be absolutely spoilt for choice in the future. Rucks are the only weakness I see still being possibly present in the future, but Warnock is really progressing nicely.
PAFC - Melbourne
Backs: 1.5/5
Midfield: 3/5
Rucks: 2.5/5
Forward: 3/5
Depth: 3/5
Youth: 5/5
Improvement: 7/10
Total: 25/40
Like his mate Brades (

) another team for the future, but not in contention right now. Probably not as well covered as Brades is ATM (will be bottom 8 for at least next year), and the backline still needs a fair amount of work, but could well be just as good in the future. Has done the right thing in turning over the list, without having much to work with.
Tippaz - Collingwood
Backs: 3/5
Midfield: 4.5/5
Rucks: 3/5
Forward: 4.5/5
Depth: 4/5
Youth: 5/5
Improvement: 6/10
Total: 30/40
Yet another team for the future, but will be more prominent now than the others (like Collingwood this year). While he hasn't drastically improved the current best team, Tippaz has really assured Collingwood of future success, if it wasn't already. The youth is very exciting! Rucks probably still need addressing though to take them to from top 4 level to top 2...
Eagle_Rock - Brisbane
Backs: 3/5
Midfield: 4.5/5
Rucks: 3.5/5
Forward: 5/5
Depth: 2/5
Youth: 2/5
Improvement: 4/10
Total: 24/40
Taken a backward step away from being a midtable young team with hope to being a midtable team without as big a future. Backline should be set up with Roe at CHB, rather than Copeland who should be used for small's tagging - not bad, but Hudghton isn't the ideal man to build a backline around though. Kennelly and Bateman provide excellent run and carry which really ups the backs rating. Midfield has a good blend of class and workman characteristics, only concern is pace. Rucks are fairly good with Charman, but if he goes down there are major problems. Forward line rating is mainly thanks to Brown, perfect guy to build a forward line around.
Peterfitz - Hawthorn
Backs: 5/5
Midfield: 3.5/5
Rucks: 2/5
Forward: 4/5
Depth: 5/5
Youth: 4.5/5
Improvement: 5.5/10
Total: 29.5/40
Fairly well rounded team that may push for a premiership next year on the back of an awesome backline. Midfield is solid, but lacks that one X-factor player, Forward line is good, Waite and Roughead need a couple more years to full blossom - rucking needs work, - no FT option, while very mobile, I'm unsure whether Ryder, Kosi and Clark's best positions are as ruckman and Campbell hasn't shown enough to warrant a high rating yet. Depth is superb - probably the best, lot's of AFL ready options and youth is very good.
Hinzey - Richmond
Backs: 1.5/5
Midfield: 2.5/5
Rucks: 1/5
Forward: 2.5/5
Depth: 2.5/5
Youth: 2.5/5
Improvement: 4/10
Total: 16.5/40
To be fair Hinzey didn't have an easy task with Richmond on his hands and this is still a team that will be a cellar dweller. Backs are still weak, Baker is the best lockdown player, but better utilised in the middle. Some good creative players in Scotland and Bowden, but not enough that are proficient at the defender's primary job, negating. Midfield is average, some good workman players, but a lack of pace. Forward line's average, the best players are retired/will be moving on soon. Depth isn't too bad, but youth should be better.
Gosllaur05 - North Melbourne
Backs: 3/5
Midfield: 5/5
Rucks: 2.5/5
Forward: 1.5/5
Depth: 4.5/5
Youth: 2.5/5
Improvement: 2.5/10
Total: 21/40
Overall a team that is outstanding in one area, but lacks quality in the rest. Backline has two of the best rebounding defenders in Ad**** and Mackie as well as one of the best QB/generals in Goddard, however no lockdown KPP to build the backline around, which is a concern. Midfield is terrific, but ruckman are average (Street is a good tap ruckman, but doesn't provide anything else). Forward line isn't looking too flash NAblett and Gill aren't the best options to build a forward line around. Depth is very good, alot of AFL ready options and youth is average (taken a backward step).
Cormick - Essendon
Backs: 1.5/5
Midfield: 2.5/5
Rucks: 2.5/5
Forward: 1.5/5
Depth: 3.5/5
Youth: 4.5/5
Improvement: 3/10
Total: 19.5/40
A very different Essendon, with a shift to complete rebuilding mode and will be competing with Richmond for the wooden spoon. The team is weak all over, no area stands out as being strong. While youth is very good, I think more could've been done to maintain the higher class players on the list.
Plugg3r - West Coast
Backs: 5/5
Midfield: 4/5
Rucks: 4/5
Forward: 4.5/5
Depth: 2.5/5
Youth: 3.5/5
Improvement: 3/10
Total: 27/40
West Coast started off as arguably the best team on paper, but are in similar shape to what they are at present in real life after the post/off season occurrences (which didn't occur in the trade game). Backline has definitely been strengthened, running defenders with good disposal like McLeod and Gilbee were required at the beginning. Midfield while still good is definitely less fearsome. Rucks ratings are purely on Cox, but apart from him there is little back-up - Biglands is nearing an end and coming back from a knee reco (not a good combo) - would've been better off with Seaby, who has alot more upside. Youth is still solid (was previously better), but alot of the better young players have been lost, and depth is around average (maybe slightly lower).
The best positioned teams for success in the short (next 2-3 years) and long term (5+ years time) are St Kilda, Hawthorn, Bulldogs and Collingwood. Teams with a good chance of a success in the short term only are Port Adelaide, West Coast and Brisbane. Teams best positioned for success in the long term only are Adelaide and Melbourne.
