Default Idea For Trade Game

Hey guys, just wondering if people wanted to add an extra twist to the trade game.

I'm involved in a trade game on another forum where it will be ongoing from year to year.
What it means is we keep the teams we've chosen for this year and next year and the year after and so on...

From round of the AFL season we start an "Official Talking Football League" where each team plays 15 rounds against the other teams with the last 4 AFL rounds being finals and eventually end up with a premiership team.
Scores are based on AFL DT scores for players.

Draft picks are allocated to all teams at the end of the season and we open a trade week at the same time as the AFL where all players and draft picks can be traded.

1 week after AFL draft we can have a draft where all delisted players and new draftees can be drafted by teams according to the draft picks at their disposal.

then we can open to trades again in the preseason next year ready for the TFL second season.

We keep the same teams from year to year...
We can choose to go for the flag this year or trade for the future...

If all teams play each other only once from rounds 4-18 we can just follow the AFL program for the weekly fixture...

We need to name a team of 22(?) every week with the following restrictions:
6 Backs, 5 Mids, 6 Forwards, 1 Ruck, 4(?) Interchange from any position.

I'll organise the league unless anyone else is keen to do it. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Opposing captains check scores for themselves and their opposition and I'll doublecheck if there are any disputes.
We could do previews and match reviews each week. I know a few people who would be volunteering for this job (Brades, Lionsmaster, Tippaz at the very least)

Anyone interested?

I'm not surprised. I couldn't understand what I wrote either

Here's how it was explained on the other forum...

Game run over seasons. 16 teams start with 16 current AFL lists.

Scores are decided by DT points.

Each team must have;

18 Players on Field;
1 Ruck
5 Mid
6 For
6 Back

Bench Players can be any position. Players played out of SC listed position lose half points.

Picks are awarded for future seasons from 16th to 1st.

Deadlines:

Week/Event
Round 1 - 18 - Trades Open
Round 4 - Season Start
Round 18 - Season Close
Round 19-22 - Finals
Trade Week- Trade's including next season's picks.
Draft Week - List Lodgement
Week Following Draft Week - Draft
Pre Season Draft Week - Pre Season Draft

By List Lodgement date, every squad must be cut back to 37 players.

Delisted players and players picked up in the corresponding "real" draft the week before are available in Draft.

List maximum 46.
List minimum 38(After drafts)

5 Picks in AFL Draft, 2 in Pre Season.

Easier to understand?

So basically.. we have our teams now, do some trades etc, then submit teams for the week ahead based on who we have. After the season is done, we do more trading then pick players who are in the real draft.

pretty much. Delisted players can also be picked up in the draft which will give me the opportunity to pick up Mark Bolton next year

Then we do it all again next year with the same teams. So we need a strategy for our trades and drafts regarding potential and age etc...

It puts us all in the same situation as the real AFL teams

It'll be tough to do 22 rounds of 8 games per year... I might not have time to add up scores every week.

I should have some time, its not hard really PAFC - take all the scores from FanFooty I say, that way if there are any errors from them, its their fault and we aren't responsible.
