Default Nathan Jones - Melbourne Demons

Draft Pick 12 2005 AFL Draft

Nathan Jones (Vic Metro) - 17 years, 178cm, 83kg, Dandenong Stingrays/Mt Eliza
Small inside midfielder with great running capacity, attack on the ball and depth in his kicking. Prolific ball-winner, averaging 20-plus for the three games - including game high 27 possessions in Vic Metro's 27-point win over Western Australia.

From The Age Sept 24th 2005:

'Gippsland teenager Dale Thomas is likely to have left an imprint on the mind of every AFL club's recruiting scouts after a match-winning display in the TAC Cup grand final at the MCG today.

Gippsland Power, which dominated the under-18s competition throughout the season, led at every change to beat the Dandenong Stingrays 12.9 (81) to 10.6 (66) in the curtain-raiser to the AFL grand final.

But the Stingrays' star was fellow midfielder Nathan Jones, who picked up a game-high 38 disposals, to be easily his side's best player.'

Talented kid with the demons ... What does 2007 hold for Nathan, second year blues or something more?

Something more. I liked this kid last year, was very impressive in the latter part when the Demons needed people to stand up. Lets hope he goes good and becomes a great leader for Melbourne in the future.
