I thought Carlton at $15.00 was an amazing price.

Yes Carlton would be the serious bet but i just cant go past Fremantle at $101....You just never know what they will do from 1 season to the next.

Maybe even the Ross at $8.50 or the Bulldogs at $6.50 would be worth throwing a $10 or $20 note on them to get the W/S.

Bulldogs $6.50 and Bombers $4.50 are the most likely wooden spoon winners, and the re-building Adelaide $20.00 could also be a chance. But the best value could be Port Adelaide at $100. Port's poor performance in the Grand Final was a performance that you would expect from a Wooden Spoon team.

I'd say the bottom 4 teams are deserving favourites. Sympathy goes out to Roos supporters after a solid year in '07 with a top 4 finish a youngish list and the return of Thompson I thought they would atleast be double figures. Sydney and Adelaide are likely to slide somewhat its just a matter of how far. Expect Carlton to be closer to finals than a spoon this year with Judd in, Stevens back and Kreuzer they can't contemplate tanking. As for the suggestion on Port that is criminal.

dude it happens every year with us. No matter how good our team is we arn't rated by the media or so called "experts".

I reckon chucking 2 bucks on Freo might not be the worst idea. I don't think they'll finish with the spoon and they are expected to make the top 8 but how long can we keep saying that. They lack pace and toughness and in this moden age of football that's what you need.

Coming from an Eagles fan lol. However in the time capsule predictions thread I put Freo down as wooden spooners. Not because they are the most likely team to get it but because it would be a great tip if it did happen. There's no doubt Freo are worth a few bucks at 101. They are an untalented team, with the exception of the great Pav. Someone said they lack toughness. I'm not sure that's true, they have the Carr boys, and players like Headland, Solomon, Farmer seem to be suspended every other week. What they lack is discipline (and pace to some extent).
