yeah...before the race I gave him no hope, but I've always had him in the back of my mind because he has got so much potential.
I didn't think he'll run out the distance strongly, but he certaintly proved me wrong, and heaps of other people.

haha ouch.
I had Tungsten strike who finished last in my 5 horse trifecta, and in my sweep, i had Scenic Shot, Blue Monday, Blutigeroo and...Gallic.
Before the scratching, i thought my only chance was Gallic.
And i was probably right...

Yeah.......when Maybe Better got scratched, I chucked in Purple Moon (told my Dad to swap), and came 2 - Purple Moon, 3 - Mahler, 4 - Zipping, 6 - On a Jeune, 8 - Master O'Reilly.
A couple of mates from school got the trifecta, and I was just thinking to myself, ' so close '. I can't beleive Efficient still won it though, he showed some signs of coming back to form earlier on in the week, but didn't think it was near enough to win one Australia's great races, the Melbourne Cup. Doesn't matter, I'll be waiting for next year's cups again. (Should go quick like this year)
