Italy are the laughing stock of the world. The fact they need to resorted to discraceful diving and cheating tactics in order to achieve success signifies exactly what time of footballing team they are. Italy have some very good players and they are a succesful team yet have no credibility left. The antics of grass rolling in order to get players sent off or diving to get a free kick are exactly whats wrong in football and exactly what put people off the beautiful game.

Then we have the scandals with the Serie-A. A competition once thought of as equal with the best in the world (in England and Spain) has now suffered huge financial losses due to crowd depreciation and even less people watching on the T.V - Nobody wants to see a bunch of cheats running around on a football field where the score is already decided upon. Whether speaking to officials in order to influence referee appointment or just general sports fraud it's something that isn't tolerated and should be heavily frowned upon.

Australia had an oustanding world cup, we are a small footballing national in comparison to Italy who have been at almost every world cup. Despite Italy beating Australia there is one major different between the two nations. One walks away with it's head up and future looking bright while the other has its tail between it's legs as many potential conflicts of interest continue within Italian football.

WTF?? First of all its pretty stupid randomly bringing up some bull**** World Cup game that happened almost 2 years ago that you lot cheated in.

Second why did u put up a thread about soccer in the General Australian Rules Football part of an AFL forum?

And third why the **** are you telling aussies to burn? I dont really give a **** about soccer but when you start saying that kinda **** then it gets me pissed.

Just when I almost had some respect for Judd3

Why won't you admit that you cheated?

My bet is Judd3 is born in Australia, lived in Australia his whole life, but is one of those pathetic people who supports a country that he only has ancestoral ties with. I have ties with England and Ireland but I don't support them.

Ah, do you remember the Euro 2004 in Portugal?
You were in the same group as Denmark (us), Sweden and Bulgaria?
As long as you won against Bulgaria you would proceed to the next round...as long as Denmark v Sweden didn't finish 2-2.
And what happened? Denmark were up 2-1, but the Swedes equalised in the last minute.
At the same time, Italy scored their winning goal in the last minute (2-1) against Bulgaria and starting celebrating...until they realised that Sweden had equalised against Denmark.
The look in the Italian players faces made the day perfect for both us Danes and the Swedes as we both progressed.
The next day you could read in the newspapers that they accused the Danes and Swedes of cheating. But they didn't watch the match. It was just a coincidence.
But I almost wish that we'd done it on purpose. Let's give the Italians a big dose of their own medicine. Cheaters all the way through.
Because of the Italian players (along with the Spanish) some people call football for "sissy soccer". Rolling around like a pack of girls.
Where's your pride? Someone should break their legs just to give the players a reason to roll around like dolls.
(I've got nothing against Italy or it's people. Decent country with nice food - but the majority of your football players should stop concentrating on cheating (incl. diving + match making) and Dax Wax and instead have a bit of pride.
You shouldn't even have been at the World Cup 2006 after the match making scandal.
Pathetic team which at times plays great football, but has got no ones respect. Look at the Aussies. First time in the World Cup since 1974. Tiny football country compared to the Italians. Still, they played proper football. Fair and square.
But no no, the Italians had to cheat (just as they always do).
