Brad Hodge

Been a victorian cricket fan Brad Hodge has been the state's best international player for batting. Hodge has been constantly unselected despite good form and was harshly dropped two weeks after his 203* n.o, this seems to be his frustrating international cricketing career.

Brad has now been selected for the windies tour taking Michael Clarke's place (family reasons). However Brad is not first choice batsmen he will probably not get a game, because Clarke may be back before May 22 (first test)possibly.


Although i think Brad Hodge just isn't quite up to stratch.


He has been given a rough ride by the selectors.

What does everyone else think?

Brad Hodge was picked as a future test player a few seasons ago by people well known in the cricketing cicle of Australia.But like most top Batsman that play for state sides he will be pushed under the wicket and will never get another game (hopefully im wrong).

The sellectors seem to have a wierd way of doing things in this country and that is they use the great state players when needed and then throw them away when it suits them.It must be frustrating for Hodge and others .
Pontings form in the Indian test series was down big time as where Clark and co but the sellectors did nothing about it.Why not throw Hodge in or North from WA ,give them a crack when they are in obvious form for their states??.

It just seem as though he has done something wrong and has to be punished for it.
But I think the selectors have their own favourites and they would rather bring these young ones though before Brad.
Could this be a case of who you know and not how good you really are.

I recall his 203 no correctly, it was on the flattest track and no one was going out and we drew the match.
His batting has never inspired me when I saw him in the team!
