Default Who will captin the pies?

Just wondering your view on who will be the new captin of Collingwood for 2008 IMO i think the the best captins for Collingwood would be Tarkyn Lockyer or Scott Burns both great players who put there all in for the pies and also have great ledership skills. whats your view?

Tarkyn Lockyer would be the right choice imo.He is still young enough to give a few more years to the club compared to Burns.
Lockyer has had a pretty good record on and off the field and has really stepped up to the plate in the last few seasons.

I thought Maxwell was the way to go. He plays with that burning desire and does the inspirational things without ever thinking about them. If he doesn't get it either Lockyer or Fraser will.

Yeah, Nick Maxwell is a great team player and would be a worthy Captain, i still haven't forgot his bone-jarring tackle on Max Rooke in the Prelim Final. Maxwell is in the mould of a John Worsfold so maybe Malthouse will go down that path. I guess the only question marks on Maxwell are; if his form drops during the season will he be in our best 22??? The safest bet would probably be for Scott Burns to be Captain with Josh Fraser Vice-Captain. Scott Burns is 33 so it would only be a short term solution for a couple of years. But at least it would give our younger players like; Pendlebury, Thomas, Cloke, Shaw, a couple more years to mature and develop their leadership skills.

I personally think Fraser or Lockyer, there is something about them both. I agree that Maxwell is a very good player and shows great leadership, but i just couldn't see his name captaining the side. Fraser and Lockyer all the way!!!!

Maxwell would be my pick as well, he knows how to do the job right!!

But after hearing this:

"You should have two games on very good grounds, and if you have a loss and a win, the side who scores the most goals gets to go through to the next round," Shaw said.

What do you guys think?

Well, as predicted Collingwood has decided to go with Scott Burns as Captain with Josh Fraser as Vice Captain. The word is that Scott Pendlebury will be Collingwood's next captain when Burns retires.
