Ball & Jolly Where Winning Difference For The Pies In 2010 - Good Call Bad Call?

I'm going to go bad call on this one
Don't get me wrong both were massive players and a massive part of the jigsaw puzzle.
Both trades in my mind were absolute winners!!!

But to me Collingwoods biggest improvement came from players like:

Leon Davis, Paul Medhurst, John Anthony, Shane O'Bree, Tarkyn Lockyer, Josh Fraser,
Jaxson Barham, Chris Bryan, Marty Clarke and Anthony Rocca - That's 10 players that played most games last year - None good enough for various reasons this year and all their replacement are quite obviously better!!!

Alot of list cloggers in that above group!!!

IMHO too many people under-estimate their value.

1/ Quality ruckman that brings Swan, Didak, Thomas, Pendulbury, Ball into the game with first use of the ball, plus has the added value of being able to go forward and kick a goal.

2/ Quality clearance player, who although limited in stats every week acts as a "key" quality mid-field rotation increasing the over all effectiveness of you mid-field for closer to the 100 minutes of game time.

Who you have in your team is always more important than who you dont.

Wow thats a great question , i really dont know? Ball and Jolly both fantastic pick ups or
the massive improvement of their 20 team mates who have learnt a new game style which every other AFL club have failed beat. Sitting on the fence call hehe

Very GOOD call. Big men who dominate & run are scarce in the AFL.Ball was a great pick up.He played limited GF last year are did OK. Better in a better side.

Good Call. I felt as though as soon as they picked those two guys up in last years draft, they would be definitely a top four side. The rest of the work has been done by Mick and the coaching staff, providing a gameplan that covers up the Magpies flaws and plays to their strengths.
