Default Collingwood wouldn't have won the flag without Malthouse

Collingwood wouldn't have won the flag without Mick Malthouse. Good call, bad call?
I believe the Pies won yesterday because their structures and the way they set up was superior to the Saints. Malthouse has got this side to be very disciplined, and they didn't allow the Saints to play their game.
So my question is, did the Pies win because they had the best team this year, or could Malthouse have taken any one of 5-6 sides to the flag with the same game plan?

I think this could go either way depending on how you see it, my opinion is that it is a good call, he has shown that he has become an elite coach and his structures have worked all year against the other sides therefore this not only took them to the grandfinal but made them win. I don't know why Collingwood would get rid of a Coach a year after the chance that he will win 2 straight premierships. Have heard that Carlton have made a bid to get him to coach in 2012 and seeing he is good friends with Greg Swann would not be suprised if he is at Carlton in 2012 unless Ratten does something near extrodinary.

Agree. Their gameplan and the use of their forward pressure was just something else this season and credit to the coaching staff for creating a gameplan to suit their strengths.

malthouse almost lost them the flag by making an emotional pick in leon davis and presti(lucky he pulled out)..so i think hes a very lucky boy it went into the 2nd week.but their game plan was exceptional
