Default 2008 Team Predictions - Geelong Cats

Best Team Lineup

FB Egan Scarlett Byrnes

HB Milburn Harley Hunt

C Kelly Bartel Selwood

HF Chapman Mooney Ablett

FF S.Johnson Ottens Varcoe

Foll Blake Ling Corey

Bench Hawkins Enright Tenace Prismall

2008 Predictions

Most Goals: Mooney
Most Possessions: Bartel

Most Marks: Scarlett

Potential Step Up Year: Expect to see Joel Selwood cement his spot in the starting line up this year after one of the most impressive debut seasons in recent times. Travis Varcoe is determined to try and break into the Cats super talented mid-field and will be better for the run last year. One who has been in the system for a while now but failed to deliver on his promise is James Kelly, with youngsters like Selwood coming through this year is the one where he must step up and make his name as one of the comp's better midfielders.

Dreamteam Smokies: Selwood is likely to get even more game time this year and with Ablett and Bartel still copping the tags he could become a monster scorer. The usual suspects should also have solid years again with Ablett, Bartel, Chapman and Milburn among the most consistent scorers in the game.

Most Brownlow Votes: Ablett/Bartel

Rising Star: Tom Hawkins

General Comments:Hard to see this side suffering from a premiership hangover with such an abundance of talent mixed equally amongst youth, middle aged and the veterans.

Predicted Final Ladder Position: 1st

Keys To Moving Up The Ladder: Hard to move any further up and only need to keep doing what they were to stay on top.
