Default Voss risks 'career suicide'

Jason Akermanis has warned his former Brisbane Lions skipper Michael Voss faces "career suicide" by becoming a senior AFL coach next season.

I'm with Aker on this one ... I think he should serve an apprenticeship somewhere for at least 2 years.

Same here. I don't see why Voss is more special than anyone else, and he seems to see it as a chance for him to develop coaching skills. He's missing the point.

I'd love to see him fall flat on his face. A great player no doubt, but a smug asshole if I ever came across one. Just my opinion.

Why does anyone need to serve an apprenticeship? Surely a guy of his ability learnt alot about the day to day runnings of a football club from player management to tactical training from the his triple premiership coach Leigh Matthews.

I hope he takes on the role and suceeds.

There's no reason why he would have learned anything more than any other 200 game player.

Leigh Matthews is only a good coach. He took over the reighns at Brisbane and Collingwood when the hard work was done. He only had to guide them. He has not had to build a team until the last few years.

if Michael Voss gets a coaching job for next season i look forward to betting against his team after about round five when they are no longer scared of him.
