Hope for your sake NM don't move to Gold Coast though. It might be difficult to call them North Melbourne then.

Do some people still call Brisbane Fitzroy and Sydney South Melbourne?
Some people refer back to both to them a bit but dont call them that as a first name.

In VFL/AFL history Sydney Swans have officially won 4 Premierships, but if you wanna say technically then the SYDNEY Swans have won 1.

Ow BTW, Weren't the Power the same team that after they won there 1st premiership neally ended up in the bottom 8 the year after?

We made the second round of the finals the next year. What has that got to do with anything?

And there's nothing complicated about it, the Sydney Swans are a seperate team to South Melbourne and have therefore won one premiership

The Sydney Swans are not a separate team to South Melbourne. South Melbourne Football Club was relocated to Sydney. The team that finished one year started the next with the majority of the same players in a new city. Happens often in American sport where the City name changes but the nickname remains the same and it is the same club/franchise. They did not form a new team to play in a competition they had never been in before (eg Port Power).

.. And this arguement is lame.

Either way, fact is.. there now the Kangaroos. The club officially did announce they were no long North Melbourne. If you want to call them North Melbourne.. go ahead, but they ARE officially the Kangaroos.

VERY true.

Dozer.. we've tried the arguement with Port fans since they entered the competition.. but they still seem to think the POWER have a ridiculous amount of premiership. Not nessecerily you PAFC.
