Mate, i just want to thank you for using the name North Melbourne not Kangaroos - don't care if we come last as long as we are called North Melbourne

Depends if you're refering to the Port Adelaide Magpies or the Power

This from the Kangaroos official website, history page

Quote:
1998 saw the Club play in its ninth Grand Final and second under coach Denis Pagan. Unfortunately the Roos were unable to capitalise on a four goal half time lead and Adelaide were the eventual Premiers. This was also the last time the Club played under the banner 'North Melbourne'.

The decision to play and trade under the banner of the Kangaroos reflected the Club's decision to broaden its national appeal. While we are and always shall remain the North Melbourne Football Club, fully capitalising on the Club's long-standing nickname the Kangaroo - a true Australian icon - is believed to provide significant opportunities in developing an Australia-wide profile.
So you are not called North Melbourne then Borak.

No problem with calling them North Melbourne for me. In the SANFL I still call the Eagles Woodville. I always will.

Hope for your sake NM don't move to Gold Coast though. It might be difficult to call them North Melbourne then.

Do some people still call Brisbane Fitzroy and Sydney South Melbourne?
