Yeah maybe or maybe not im not sure.

i am sure some players love the attention *ahemcousinsahem* but some others would hate it.

I guess the media's role in players would be to blow things up in proportion.
i mean if a player did something bad, it would be a week before they get over it.

where as on the otherhand, players are constatly helping with afl auskick, and other community programs, that the media never report on.

for young footballer i guess that they are a role model, for something to aspire to.

well i don't, but for most people YES. they seem to think footballers have to be perfect human beings. but first and foremost, footballers need to able to get a kick.

how does the AFL players behaviour influence young footballers at school?
very little. kids only look at onfield behaviour, not offield behaviour.

what is the medias role in representing and reporting player misbehaviour outisde the club?
obvioulsy making money. cos that's all they care about nowadays. the media shouldn't be so eager to follow up on private misdemeanours. i'm sick of hearing "public interest" as an excuse. if there's a big footy story (like the Ben Cousins story), just give the facts, not opinions!

Very well said Tippaz. Totally agree. In regards to AFL players influencing young kids, I don't think any player should be held accountable for anyone else's behaviour, child or adult.

Only cruddy parents blame AFL players for their kids doing the wrong thing.
The problem is there are a lot of cruddy people out their that opened their legs and are now mums.

I reckon that because the media is watching their every move the players are always trying to do as well as they can off the field with out making incidents.

but ofcourse they are humans as well, and make mistakes.
its just the media is blowing it up.

and instead of saying, "oh its ok. i forgive you" they are like "omg how do you feel? are you ashamed? did you take drugs?"

because as the mack daddy said "to err is human, to forgive divine"
