Default What Is Richmond's Problem?

Me being a Richmond supporter find nothing wrong with the club

but to be perfectly honest they're are a few problems that need addressing.

We have a few gaping holes in our list that need to be filled by either an established player like a Judd (who happens to be on the market.

Let me start with the forward line

Matthew Richardson is an absolute superstar, but sadly he is coming to the end of his career.
Kayne Pettifer is doing a good job but shouldn't be our second target in the forward line
Andrew Krakoeur will most likely be delisted by the club over the pre-season

Our ruck divisions need bolstering also
Troy Simmonds cannot take on the whole load by himself

Our backline is lacking a key position player to help out Graham Polak. Most teams have more than one big forward than can kick multiple goals in a game. We need to pick up either a "kid" or a developed player to help him

Anymore suggestions on what could be fixed?

Player development is what the problem is at Richmond. I'm not sure if there is a gym at Punt Road but it sure doesn't seem like it. Name one player that has a bit of bulk at Richmond, you'd struggle to find any. Tambling still has no strength on him, yet Franklin and Roughead who should have taken longer to develop are looking like elite athletes. It's worrying when you see some more skinny kids like Edwards and Riewoldt come through, as you can't doubt the talent but what Richmond do to it that could ruin their careers.

List wise, they lack a ruckman but the rest of the team if pretty settled. McGuane and Thursfield look like good future key defenders which could free up Bowden to play a midfield role. Hughes and Riewoldt are coming through as a replacement for Richo and they have Schultz for backup. Midfield is a bit of a worry, possibly too many HFF'ers rather than genuine midfielders(Tambling, Krakouer, Edwards, Pettifer). Need to look at getting a ruckman but their problems aren't as bad as Carltons or the Dogs.

I think PAFC hit the nail on the head with player development.

They also have a lot of players in the younger age bracket, so more experience and exposure to AFL footy will help as always.
