Hawks have shown examples of poor discipline, none worse than on the weekend, but the ruckman thing is a myth. They have 2 no-name ruckmen, that is true. But it's the 4th best combination in the league this year. That's the stat.

4th best combination? No, no its not.

Jolly-Everitt
Cox-Seaby
Sandilands-Longmuir
Biglands-Hudson
Lade-Brogan
Blake-Ottens

are all better.

I'm not speculating Brades. Campbell/Taylor ARE statistically the 4th best combo in the business. Probably 16th for around the ground influence and touches, but as ruckmen they are right up there, so it's not a problem.

What stat is that?

Can you link me to it please.

I'll have a crack, I read it in the paper and admittedly it was about 3 or 4 weeks before the end of the year. But thats good enough anyway. I'll have a look around.

Ok, I worked it out myself. By hitouts, the best combo is by far Jolly and Everitt (863). Next is Cox and Seaby (790), then Blake and Ottens (741). Campbell and Taylor are 4th with 721 hitouts. Campbell by himself is 8th, above both Ottens and Blake, and Taylor is twelfth.

Think about it, Cox missed those few games at the start of the year.

So by that statistic Sandilands is the best ruckman in the game. Please. What about possessions and efficiency, hitouts to advantage?

You're changing your tack, I never said anything about them being the best PLAYERS who were ruckmen in the game, but you said Hawthorn lacked a quality ruckman and I simply showed you that this is not the case. By no means are Taylor and Campbell quality players, but they ARE quality ruckmen, you can't deny that. Actually no, YOU probably could deny that, but you would be wrong. Hawthorn's midfielders are getting first use of the ball and that's what makes a good RUCKMAN, not necessarily player.
