Default If Chris Judd Returns to Victoria ...

... what are the chances of Melbourne finishing last

Seriously though, what would clubs offer up as trade???
i'd say no.1 draft pick + good player + other 2nd & 3rd round draft picks
or, he could always let his contract run and get picked up through the preseason draft (to the Victorian team who finishes last = Melbourne)

Not gonna happen. He's not unhappy, he's the captain and he's playing in a good side, why would he leave? It's unthinkable.

you're a Melbourne supporter, right?

i've always thought Judd would be most likely to play for Melbourne (should he choose to return)
would you be prepared to finish last so you could capture him freely via the preseason draft?

Dont think we have to finish last ... ... infact I think Judd from a personal view point would not want to go to a team that finishes last.

IMHO Judd's management is smart enough to get a deal done to make sure he goes to the team of his choice. Lets face it the eagles are not going to let him walk for nothing.

IMHO ... there is only two possible scenarios

1/ He stays an eagle - which I would say is most likely.
2/ He returns home via a trade to the team of his choice - who in return have to provide the Eagles with a "fair and reasonable trade"

Hence you have to define a "fair and reasonable trade".

Lets say ... if Judd was a west australian and wanted to return home.

What would the Eagles offer?

Nathan Carroll + Aaron Davey + no.1 draft pivk + another 1st round draft pick

that's what i'd want, if i was an eagle.

Show me the precedent where the Eagles have offered that for a West Australian kid wanting to return home to West Australia.

Fun when the boot is on the opposite foot we are not sooooooooo keen to play the "draft game" are we now.

If he leaves Eagles (as I've said before is a massive and fairly unlikey if ) ... Dees and Eagles will do a deal.

#1 for Croad and mcPharlin thanks and at the time it was reasonable.. until Croad acted like a ******! Anyway, that was in the past and every team has made recruiting mistakes... well I know Adelaide has alot being in Adelaide.

In modern AFL football, Home is no longer where the heart is for most players. They want to play football, no matter where they play. He's the captain of a premiership winning side that has a low average age.

If he does leave, well I can't see any melbourne team coming up with enough to justify having him. WC would be after a first rounder + quality midfielder. So melbourne would have to give First Rounder + McLean in my opinion, which they won't do.

Hawthorn exchanges Trent Croad and Luke McPharlin to Fremantle for Priority Pick One, second round selection (currently number 20) and third round selection (currently number 36).

Ok now we are talking ... So you want to use the "Croad Deal" as the precedent.

Beautiful ... Pick 1 in the draft and our 2 and 3 round picks for two of your top liners. Mate we could not get on an airplane quick enough ... we would probably take Glass .... thanks.

Plus we would give you a 100% guarantee we would never, ever trade Judd back to you .... we promise.
