I know this is an old thread, but i think this question has been answered after Collingwood knocked off Geelong on Friday Night. Geelong will bounce back, but i just hope that the Pies can get another crack at Geelong in the Finals because i think we have an edge over the Cats.

What edge, pray tell is that?

Just curious, not implying there isn't one

I think the next time Collingwood play Geelong, it will be one hell of a game. Collingwood will be out to repeat the carnage to two weeks ago, but Geelong will be out to reverse the humiliation of that game. And if its for a place in the Preliminary Finals or the Grand Final, it will be even better.

The AFL is stupid not to have the two teams that drew the biggest crowd of 2007 not playing twice at the MCG. This is a disservice to everyone in my view.

Interestingly though, looking at the remainder of the draw, Geelong have it favourable. They play teams currently at 12, 13, 15 and 16 twice, not including Port Adelaide currently in 10th spot in two weeks time at Geelong.

September is a long way away though, anything can happen between now and then, well, nearly anything...

Default the draw??

The draw for this season is ****. Geelong play Richmond twice before the play Hawthorn. We travel 5 times even a back-to-back. now take a look at Collingwood they travel 3 times

From Geelongs perspective, playing Richmond twice should not be a bad thing. And as for having to travel, it did not seem to hold Geelong back at all last year, in fact, the ability to win away makes Geelong even more intimidating to other teams.
