They aren't looking to good, I think they'll finish bottom 4 at the end of the season, but they'll have stiff competition for the wooden spoon because the Tigers & Tankton haven't had the best of starts either, both looked out of sorts...

Melbourne were a bit worse than out of sorts but then again they were against a side much better than Carlton or Tigers.

I think it's rebuilding time for the dees. Their more expierienced players are past their peek in white, neitz, robertson and co I like the looks of some of their younger players in Morton,Newton,Pettard etc. The team needs to do what the likes of carlton and hawthorn are doing. Giving younger players plenty of oppurtunity to prove themselves.

It could be a frustrating season or two ahead but all teams go through the same rebuilding faze

It was a woeful performance by the Dees but it is too early to write them off after just one bad game. I remember Collingwood had a similar loss last year against Brisbane at the MCG, and we were able to bounce back. It will be interesting to see how the Melbourne players respond against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

Melbourne are the most likely candidates for the wooden spoon for me. Carlton you know will end up winning some games off the boot of Judd. Likewise Richo, Dids and Brown will help Richmond win a few. Melbourne however seem to have few gamebreakers just quality players. Davey is probably the closest they have to a gamebreaker ATM.

Default The Dees

Melbourne have a few options to consider,

They could merge with Collingwood to become the woodees (woodies)

They could have a special game day on round 22 playing Carlton for the Golden Tankard.

They could go to Canberra and become the pollies, the local authorities could put up speed cameras at the ground to slow Essendon down.

Only joking.................don

How Bad?

Wooden Spoon bad

2-3 wins at the most and the worst points percentage by a Wooden Spooner ever.

Anyone know which team/year had the worst points percentage?

Yes...that's Right - it's Melbourne and the year is 2008
