Yes Hawks are impressive, but this is what you can say about the Dogs also.
But you really think they're DEFINANT contenders?

Like hell Even Sydney looked awesome against Port but I dont believe we will be Premiers this year really.

Geelong look good early though.

Roughead was well held EARLY but then hurt us in the final quarter. If a weaker defense like us can hold them for that long, a decent defence can hold them.. hence why the teams they lose to have good defences.
You can say what you like mate, but at the end of the day, they got 4 each. That's all that matters. 4 from both of your talls, 2 from you're 3rd option and 2 from your crumber, is an excellent day's work from your forwardline and there is no way you could say that Freo won that battle. The proof will be in the pudding as always, but everyone except you seems to be able to acknowledge that Hawthorn have one of the most impressive lists in the business.

I have rated this years Hawks as a great attacking team but felt they floundered a bit in defence, after watching yesterdays game I think they are really improving in this department. Brown is an AA so never had a query Gilham looks a likely type at FB and young Ellis is coming along great guns as their rebounding defender. I don't think Geelong will have it all their way this year.

Well they got out of jail thanks to the men in white (not the only one to think that). They still lack a key forward who can take every game by the neck and a defence.

I cannot believe I'm hearing this.BUDDY FRANKLIN is one of the most damaging players in the game, if not the most. He played below his best and still kicked 5.4! Roughead still managed 4 goals, as he consistantly has, even with Franklin's towering presence. Gilham kept Thompson extremely quiet, yet another scalp for him, as he consistantly beats his opponent at full back every week and it goes un-noticed.

Every game. Every game. Every game.

He doesn't consistently beat his fullback. Yesterday the umpires beat the Fullback for him, game before he was well beaten.

Gilham gets thrashed week in week out, weakest link in the team.

Not sure why a Richmond supporter is responding anyway, you obviously don't know footy if you follow them.

We both know a cheap dig at my team is not an argument and not relevent to the topic. You are obviously struggling if you're resorting to that. I don't think you know the Hawks at all. Pay attention. Gilham is the weakest link in their team, no doubt. And yet, amazingly, he still beats his opponant consistantly.

He does? He hasn't beaten one opponent in the last 18 weeks.

Oh and I'm not resorting to it, I'm just putting it in htere to annoy you.
