BRISBANE Lions coach Leigh Matthews has called Sydney champion Adam Goodes a "protected species" following the dual Brownlow medalist's tribunal let-off this week.

the comments sound fair enough to me though, I didn't see the incident but some players seem to get it better than others, especially if you are bordering on superstardom, sounds to me like the comment came from the frustration of knowing goodes would be playing against lethals lions,

To say that without seeing the incident is bull.
The incident happened when the opponent fell onto the SCG cricket pitch.
Only reason it got brung up was because other fella hurt himself otherwise nothing would of been made of the issue.

, thats bull plugger. The footage clearly shows Goodes swing his arm back and make contact with Thomas' head and he grabs his head before he hits the ground, so there is no way that the ground did the damage.

Yeh the he also continued to slam Thomas' head continiously into the ground and stomping on it also.

Goodes could kill someone and get off with a good behaviour bond.

The charge was deemed as high contact by the tribunal, so he clearly struck him in the face. What about godrfey last year, the ball is about 369 kilmetres away and Goodes just charges straight through the middle of his back?

You couldnt honestly think that Goodes isnt protected species, well you could if you didnt watch football at all i guess.
