Default Richmond's Long Term Prospects

Do we have a long term prospect for the likes of Richo
We only just replaced Gaspar this year with the likes of Thursfield who, if you ask me is going to be a premiership fullback
and with Polak and Mcguane, our backline is looking the goods
but up forward, we seem to be lacking.
Deledio is not a forward, he is a midfielder so he isn't our future down forward,
Pattison, Cleve Hughes maybe, but they haven't seemed to show anything as yet, and another decent ruckman to help simmonds would also be nice
Recruiters, get to work

Ultimately, there is no replacement for Richo and there never will be. He's one of a kind. But I'm loving what I'm seeing in Jack Riewoldt, we will play him for the rest of the year and he will be an absolute gun in time. Hughes can play, and don't forget we have Putt who is 200cm and Gourdis who is the equal quickest player on our list with Lids and stands at 194cm. Between all them we'll have a decent enough forward line post-Richo.

Richmond no.1 priority should be recruiting inside mids in the 2008 draft, to support Foley in the long term (enough with the bloody outside flankers!). Depending on where they finish, one of Rich/Hartlett/Swift should be added - all are high quality.

Naita's the standout ruck talent in this draft, but is unlikely to get past Melbourne (assuming they have pick 1). Apparently McKernan (Corey's younger bro) and Trengrove are good too and rated top 25 potential (haven't seen any of them), but may not have the height to be rucks at AFL level at 195cm and 196cm (according to the AFL Prospectus). Would probably be best to try and nab Rob Warnock (Freo) as a young ruck with v.good potential, without giving away the first rounder (will be tough as Freo really rate him).

Riewoldt and Morton are your likely candidates. Morton has shown alot of ability IMO to date, not sure if he has the size to play key forward but will be a quality forward for you somewhere. Riewoldt is only just starting to come to grips with the game and has already shown some freaky talents. He did have a bit of a wrap on him in certain Tassie circles of doing the freaky things but dissapointing in general passages of play.

Default Cotchin

Cotchin is a midfielder and highly rated at that, we picked him up knowing he has an injury i beleive, but he should fit nicely into the midfield maybe put him on a back flank, wing or forward flank for his first year. Was named as an emergency against he Saints but that was after only one week at Coburg

Alex is a backman from WA, havent heard to much about him.. 192cm so not too tall but not short.

Another highly rated player is David Gourdis who has best 20m sprint time and vertical leap, looking forward to seeing what he can do

Rance is a key position player, mainly CHB who is noted for his pace and ability to run and drive off the backline. Was touted as a top 10 pick, an absolute steal at 18.
