Default Saints in Trouble!

Saints in Trouble!

Now with mat maguire out for the rest of the season i think the Saints will struggle to make the 8! They cant seem to keep there team on the field, this has been a major problem for them.

They might need to look at offloading the likes of a Maguire, Milne, or even Kosi or whoever, for some fresh young faces, with some hardness about them eg. Armitige!

If the saints dont give the finals a real shove this year (which i think they wont) then you might find a player or two will want to play elsewhere, and membership might really drop off.

Overall theres a lot of clubs in trouble but i think the Saints sugar coating will all melt off this year. There midfield is failing to kick goals, and there style of footy is second rate compared to the big guys!!!

It just goes to show that the game itself is not played on paper. St Kilda have a fantastic looking lineup on paper, but sometimes it's more a case of a team that doesn't have as many star players, jelling together, playing as a team and giving 100% the whole time, that will end up more successfull. The bulldogs this year so far are a fair example

Yeah and the roos are in the same boat. Not that appealing on paper, everyone still tips them last but they show a bit of balls and manage finals after finals apperance against the odds!

Every year when i do my eight roos at 8th is my first pick then i work around that

Default saints in trouble

I agree that the saints are in trouble.. Milne is far too inconsistant and the G train should have stayed retired.

As for chopping players i hope they give Matty another chance he is on 99 games i think would be such a shame for him not to get to 100, he has been good so far in his career

it will interest you all to know that teams positioned inside the 8 after rd7 have an 85-90% of going on to make the finals.

Saints are currently 5th.

Exactly. 5th, 4 wins 3 losses. They are travelling just fine. Maguire is a marvallous player but he's not fit, and doesn't do a job like he used to. They got Sam Fisher and Hudghton and Blake and Raph Clarke and Goddard, all over 190cm and capable of playing down back. They will be top 6 at least.

Wow thats optimistic flanker, I guess we wait and see!

IMO i think that theres to many quality teams breathing down the neck of the 8, that play a very good brand of footy, attacking and taking risks, its only a matter of time before they pass the saints, as they did last year.

IMO saints play the worst style of footy in the league ATM! Other teams are obviously below them but those teams dont have the skill in there list to excucute there game plan consistantly, where the saints do.

IT an interesting one either way...
