I don't care what people think of my opinion on this one. All I know and believe is that some players mainly former brownlow medalists are a protected species. And the tribunal is too intimidated to suspend them for long periods of time because the drop in crowd attendances would just plummit COUGH COUGH!
How Adam goodes did not get the very bare minimum of 1 week for what he did is beyond me. Ok it was not front on contact but it was still head high and the A.F.L has clampt down (even if it's inconsistently at times) on head high contact.
Another example. If a player makes basically any kind of contact with an umpire or is reported for wrestling. Rest assured their pay packet will be a little bit lighter for a week or two.
Depending on the severity of it should depend on how much $$$$ they fork out.
To me head high contact is head high contact. Doesn't matter who does it or how it's done.
It needs to be dealt with in terms of severity just like everything else should.
I am suprised Goodes didn't win the $50 million on offer in last weeks powerball because luck certainly seems to be on his side.
