Default have you played with anyone who made it big?

after seeing the when you played post, was just curious to see how many have played in teams with or against guys that made it to afl...or any fame...and were they that good back then?

ive been lucky enuff to play with a few

i went thru jnrs alongside Matthew Lloyd at avondale heights...he was always a star, took the odd hanger even in the under 12s....after that played in a few rdfl rep sides with mark johnson he was always gifted but made it cause he worked so hard as well i think. Played a few years against dean helmers(geel) and shawn lewfat (ess) who were absolute stars of our league but only played 1 season in the afl, we all thought they would make it big. also played against chris johnson(bris) for about 5 years...each year he would kick atleast 8 on us...never expected him to turn out so good tho. played some other rep games with peveril(ess) and david round(wb)....who to be honest didnt seem to be the best guys in the side..........and then after that played a few seasons against michael werner(ess) and brad fox(ess) who both destroyed every team they played against....so they should have too comming from the afl into a country league.

but deff the best player in there was lloyd..was destinedto be a star from the start.

Against Cooney and Waters. With Cameron Wood (Baseball). Lived near Nathan Eagleton and played with his little bro.

Matt Leuenberger - played intraschool/house footy with him and watched him play interschool footy. Was very dominant, athletic for such a big man and highly skilled. In house footy the gameplan was kick it to Berger and let him do the rest. Was also a star at basketball (got Honours for it). Really good bloke to boot - very humble, quietly spoken and genuine.

The 3 Morton's (Mitch, Jarryd and Cale) - have played against (all three) and with (Cale) them in intraschool/house and interschool sport and school with Cale. Mitch and Cale were massive stars in school footy (Cale moreso), but Jarryd didn't impress me anywhere near as much. Cale was good at cricket too and like Berger a really nice, genuine guy. Mitch was a more arrogant. Don’t know about Jarryd.

Clint Benjamin (on Carlton's list - yet to debut) - played against him in intraschool footy. Lightning quick - ran an intra-school 100m in 10 something (hand timed - though) on grass.

Played club cricket with Lewis Stevenson (West Coast rookie list) at 14/15s level - his dad was the coach. Solid club cricketer without being great (not as good as me ). Another good, quietly spoken, nice bloke. Never saw him play footy before this year (didn't make U18s last year), but had heard he was very good at it.

I have played against Chris Daniher. He was 40 odd representing the Northern Riverina and I was representing Central West (NSW). He was still bloody awesome though. He put a hip and shoulder on me that dead set sent me into orbit, a tough *******!

I have a former team mate who plays down on the south coast (Batemans Bay I think) and he plays with Troy Luff. Reckons he gets 40 touches a game on his ****.

Another of my team mates played with Brett Kirk back when he was attending CSU in Wagga Wagga. He said you could tell back then that he was going to be a star.

Played against Rob Pyman who played AFL for Collingwood, Melbourne and North Melbourne. He was also assistant coach at Collingwood and Roos before coaching South Adelaide. He was sacked as their coach last year.

Also played against Rob Shirley from Crows.

I was awarded life membership in my league by none other than the great Barry Robran. He's one of the greatest legends of all time

No one of note apart from previously mentioned, Simon Overland.
A fella I also used to play against, David Fisher apparently went to NTH Melb under 18's as a 16 year old but I am not sure how true that is.
